//I definitely enjoyed writing this chapter, it was fun, especially since I was in a great mood because we WRECKED our softball rivals 13-3!! Okay sorry that was off topic but I'm excited. Even though I got hit by a lot of throws and hits and such and I'm all banged up and I have a ton more games but oh wekk. :D

Anyways, special thank yous to Shanelover879 and EdithWong3 for the follows! Thank you! :)//

Alana's POV

In the next few days after my strange run-in with the Shadow Clan, I was a little on edge, constantly checking my amulet to see if it was glowing, signaling the arrival of a Shadow Clan member. On only the day after I had gotten the amulet, I had woken up in the morning, not remembering to check if it was tucked in my shirt or not, and I hopped down the stairwell to the living area, oblivious to the fact that the dark gray and green pendent was in plain sight. So I was a little confused when Eli asked me where I had gotten it.

"Oh, um, you didn't notice it? I've always had it. Sometimes it just gets tucked into my shirt. Um, I can't remember where I got it, I've just always had it," I had said, making up the lie. Yeah, I had thought, I really must work on those lying skills.

Usually, I'm pretty awesome at lying. I had lied my way out of tough situations before. But the way that Eli looked like Will, lying to him just felt, well, wrong. So I stammered a bit, but Eli seemed like he was convinced, and so did Trixie and Kord. Pronto didn't really care in the first place. With them under that assumption, I just started wearing my amulet untucked 24/7, never taking it off. There was no way I would let the possibility of losing it exist.

As I woke up on Friday morning, I drowsily looked down to see if my amulet was glowing at all. Nope. Then I closed my eyes, spreading out my senses. Any ghouls nearby? Hm, no. I looked at Ash, Isis, and the rest of my slugs, who were beginning to wake up. "Well, no glowing and no ghouls," I yawned, getting out of bed. "Guess the day is starting out good." I changed from my pajamas to my usual daily outfit. A cyan tank-top with armor on the stomach and chest, my black bandoleer (which including the Shane insignia), elbow pads, finger gloves that almost reached my elbows, black pants with knee pads, and black boots.

Still half asleep (I am not a morning person), I brushed through my long hair and put it in a braid, not bothering to put a headband on to put back the hair in my face. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, etc., still waiting to fully wake up.

When I was ready to face whatever challenges thrown at me today, I walked down the stairs. "Morning," I yawned to an equally tired Eli. "Any distress calls?"

I hadn't officially joined the Shane Gang yet, but I was thinking about asking Eli about it soon. Why not? Being around the Shane Gang was fun, plus it meant that I could stick it to Blakk even more.

Eli shook his head. "Surprisingly, none yet. Seems pretty calm today."

Well, that would be nice. Who knows, I might know a relaxing day after all. "Cool," I said. Then I laughed. "What will we do, without any lives to save and ghouls to cure," I teased lightly. Eli was about to respond when Trixie walked in. "Well, I know what we're doing tonight!" She held up five slips of paper.

Curious, I grabbed one and read it, my eyes widening. "No way, Trix. Where did you get these?" The red head smiled back at me. "Um, the mail. I guess the Shane Gang automatically gets invited to stuff like this, and you're as much of a member as the rest of us."

Eli looked confused. "What?" he asked. "What is it?"

"They're tickets," Trixie explained. "To a huge annual formal hosted in the Eastern Caverns. Usually you have to buy tickets, and they're usually expensive, but most of Slugterra goes anyway. And then some important people just get tickets mailed to them, totally free."
