Waking

I yawn as I sit up in bed and check the clock. 2:47. I grab the book on my bedside table that I've read too many times and open it.

The Fault in our Stars. My favorite book. I love it so much, I refuse to put it down for any reason. Even if the zombie apocalypse happened I would NEVER stop reading it.

I finish the book and look at the clock again. 7:18. I slink out of bed and stand up. I go to my dresser, and get ready for my first day of school since London.

I open my drawer with t-shirts in it and I grab a random one. I unfold it and open my eyes to see what it is. The Fault in our Stars is written on the front like the cover of the book. I put it on, pair it with some black leggings, put on black sneakers, brush my hair, and put in in a ponytail. I grab my backpack filled to the brim with school supplies, and head downstairs.

"Good morning!" Mom cheerfully says with her lovable, thick british accent.

"Morning," I say, with the same accent only a little lighter.

"So... Big day today huh?"

"Yup," I get up and toast some waffles. They pop and I start to eat, with nothing on them.

I finish, grab my backpack, and get in the car.

"You excited?" Mom asks.

"No not really. More scared than anything," I say and get out my phone and earbuds. I plug them into my phone, but only put one bud in because Mom still wants to talk.

"It's okay. I know it will be a good day! Hopefully nothing will get out like it did last time!" She smiles and grabs my hand. "You'll be fine. I promise," She says, and she starts the car.
