I look up at Sebastian in slight surprise, there is tension in the air now, and I can’t help but feel as though I’d heard jealousy in his voice. But… that is impossible; Sebastian Michaelis is a full on, unfeeling demon, only caring for his meals; his cultivating and his souls.

Yet, the longer I remain silent the harder Sebastian stares at Agni.

“Oh! You are married!” Agni finally says, completely red now, “I am sorry my friend, I did not know… I meant no disrespect,” he rushes out, speaking quickly and bowing deeply.

“Quite all right, Agni,” Sebastian grins.

“…If you’ll excuse me,” Agni bows, “Again, I am very sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Michaelis,” he says guiltily as he walks over to stand beside Prince Soma.

I look up at Sebastian, who once again holds a stoic expression, “Care to explain?” I ask.

“Whatever for?” he replies as he goes to retrieve the dirty dishes from dessert.

I narrow my eyes at him, but remain silent, instead taking the dishes from his hands and going to the kitchen to begin washing them.

I finish before the guests even leave, meeting the others at the door as we all wave farewell. Agni still refuses to meet my gaze somewhat, but Prince Soma is hyper as ever as he continues to babble, even through the window of his carriage.

Once their gone, we all seem to let out a collective sigh. “Guests are truly tiresome,” Ciel sighs.

“Lavender, good work with the flowers and the curry!” Baldroy praises, patting me on the back in approval.

“Yes, they seemed to work out with these particular guests,” Ciel stated before walking back in.

“I’m just glad there were no incidents with the three of you,” Sebastian states to the three servants, “now finish up whatever work that you still have and get to bed,” he orders.

They salute and dash off to separate areas of the house, leaving Sebastian and I standing in the entryway to the manor.

“Well, I suppose I’ll be in the stables if you need anything from me,” I state in an even tone.

About a week passed, and life was uneventful for the most part. I chose to sleep in the barn, preferring the simple layout and the company of my cats to the company of the humans in the lavish manor. Though, I’d begun to realize that if I continued to stay in the barn, I’d develop a rather unappealing scent.

That night I decided to take a bath before heading out to the stables. Upon completing my bath I stepped out into the hallway in just a large white button up shirt that I’d taken from Sebastian, and my usual knee high black boots.

I quietly made my way down the hallway, trying to be as silent as possible. I rounded the corner and got a face full of hard chest.
