Sebastian had left after only a soft brush of our lips; he hadn’t uttered another word before leaving.

I soon found out why, as steps grew increasingly louder as someone neared. Claude stood in front of me, his smile cold.

“Hm, looks like the little kitten saw something interesting,” he chuckled darkly, brushing a finger across my rosy cheeks.

He untied the chain from the tree and handed me a maid’s uniform.

“Time to prepare, we have an eventful day ahead of us,” he smirked, pushing his glasses up, then lead me back into the manor.

I changed and silently trailed behind Claude. He left me in a lounging room, the metal collar digging into my neck still. Outside I hear muffled voices, and the deep voice I’d grown to recognize instantly travelled to my ears.

Sebastian…

I heard battling then, and suddenly Ciel’s voice. I arose from the seat and walked out of the room; having not been ordered to remain in there, I freely walked out of the mansion.

I found the two demons standing and gazing across a maze. Far off in the distance I saw Ciel and the female demon, Hannah, atop a clock tower.

I looked on in confusion as Alois spoke from Ciel’s body. He ordered them to move through the maze in order to reach him. The two black suited butlers sped forward with out hesitation. Claude had ordered me to remain at the entrance, and so I watched as they answered questions, the answers obviously backwards and directed more towards Claude.

After a while, Alois grew very irritating as he jeered from the top of the tower.

Claude had been forced back to the entrance when he’d answered the last question with words that Alois did not wish to hear.

Suddenly, Alois fell to the floor, writhed in pain. The boy shakily got up, and then, to my surprise, spoke in Ciel’s voice.

He called out to Sebastian, and then his voice reached my ears, “Lavender, I release you from Claude, and order you to help Sebastian. Sebastian, eat my soul!” Ciel ordered, his voice echoing through out the maze.

I grinned evilly, showing my complete anger for the first time since I’d arrived.

“Yes, my lord,” I replied, though I doubt he heard me.

I ripped the metal collar from my neck, and it fell heavily to the ground. With out hesitating I dashed into the maze. There were a collection of stamps and booklets, and I began answering. Since I’d heard most of the answers stated by Claude and Sebastian, I whizzed through the maze easily.

I reached the last level, where Claude stood once again, now joined by Sebastian. I helped Sebastian fight the golden-eyed butler, but then Alois emerged again, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Hannah bring him somewhere within the tower. We ceased our fighting, and crashed through the door, working together just this once, in order to pass the gate into the tower.

We all ran up the stairs and burst into the top room. But, we were to late. Hannah sat with Ciel in her arms, smiling at us coldly, “The contract has been made.”

She explained a few things about the contract, but didn’t tell us exactly what Alois (and in turn, Ciel) had agreed upon. All she told us is that Claude and Sebastian had to battle it out in order to get his soul. We travelled to Death Island… or Demon Island, which ever you’d prefer to call it.

Hannah further explained the rules, and then we pulled the sword Leviathan from within her. She threw it into the ceiling of the cavern, and told the two black butlers to begin.

With immense speed they leapt for the sword, each trying to block the other. Claude reached it first, and I found myself holding my breath as I watched in silence. They fought fiercely, and every time Claude swung I bit my lip harder, in fear that he would land a blow.

But, then Sebastian managed to take the sword, and it went downhill for Claude from there. I caught some of their words, and froze as Sebastian’s reached my ears.

“How dare you. How dare you touch her? How dare you harm her?” Sebastian growled as he slashed at Claude.

“You speak as though she is yours, as though you are mates,” Claude taunts as he fights, though I know he is losing.

Sebastian’s next words hit me like a thousand bricks, and I stand frozen in shock.

“…I care for her far more then you ever did… “ He whispers, “I have felt my first taste of compassion because of her. Therefore… I’m hoping she will be,” he growls, and then with a swift, clean movement, Claude has a sword in him.

The scent of blood fills the cavern as Claude bleeds.

Hannah chuckles darkly as Sebastian makes his way back from finishing Claude.

“… Oh, foolish demon… that wasn’t the end of the contract,” she cackles before explaining.

The cavern is already falling apart due to the battle between the spider and the crow, and so she grabs Ciel and jumps. Her mouth moves as she says her last words, a sick and taunting grin painted across her face.

I gasp as I process what she’d said; Sebastian jumps forward in to the sea, following Ciel as he plummets into the water. I leap forward as well, and dive cleanly. I swim faster than Sebastian (surprisingly, since I am a cat demon, and therefore am not a huge fan of water) and reach Ciel first, raking my claws against his throat in a last ditch effort to stop his transformation. Sebastian grabs hold of Ciel and injures him further, but with a bright flash of red… we realize that its no use.

We reach the surface and get on a boat. Ciel slowly opens his eyes and I cast mine downward at what I see.

Ciel’s eyes are a glimmering red.

Demon’s eyes.
