The hospital ward's silence was broken,
By her cry,
As she entered the new world,
The world where by the rules everyone is supposed to abide.
He cheeks chubby,her arms plump,
Carefree, untagged,no worries about who voted Trump.
She would run abou in fields of green,
To find the code behind every law of nature she was keen.
"Your child is beautiful" "oh!how cute she is!"
Her mother often received such remarks,
Flattered and proud, she would jokingly dismiss,
And embrace her daughter's pure curious sparks.
She had aspiration,needed no inspiration,
She worked hard, day and night, with determination,
Books were her world, school bells to her were music,
The smallest things in life she found satisfying.
She grew into a healthy, young woman and entered a world yet again,
A world where it is important,to popularity gain,
A world where you are tagged and bitched about,
A world where you are labelled skinny or stout.
"Fat" a word she was called seven days a week,
As she made her way to class, helpless, timid and weak,
Mocked at,the laughing stock she became,
The day when her own mother called her an 'elephant' came,.
That day changed her life forever, made her someone else,
Now she no more cared about the bookshelves,
Resolute, determined, she was to break free from her label,
To fit in,she wanted to be just as physically able.
The gym became her second home,
Her eyes shed tears, her skin shed sweat,
She did very thing tim achieve the 'perfect form'
Just so with confidence her and others' eyes met.
She dropped the lift, chose the stairs,
She forgot the meaning of the phrase-"who cares"
At the table, her plate remained untouched,
Pale became her cheeks which were once flushed.
She did it,snapped the plastic of her tag,
The label of having a "perfect body" she bagged,
But her grades dropped drastically,
