It's official. Me and Joey Richter are now the new school couple, and the most interesting one for sure. I have to admit, I'm still getting used to all the attention but I think I'm beginning to like it. It's weird how people suddenly know so many things about me, and talk about the two of us all the time. Being the school's new 'bad girl' is not bad at all.
Me, Abby and Austin started having lunch with Joey, Brian, Lauren and Darren, and we hang out with them a lot too. Logan and Tiffany don't come around us at all, I know it's because of the me and Joey thing, so at the same time I both feel bad 'cause I'm not talking to my brother, but then again I simply don't care. If he can't accept the fact that I'm not an innocent little girl anymore, and accept me for who I am, that's his problem, not mine. Also, Joey and I go to school together now, without Logan, he goes with either some random friend or he drives alone. So there is literally no communication whatsoever.
''How's my favourite girl today?'' Joey greeted me, joining me and Abby at the table for lunch. We didn't have any classes together this morning so we didn't yet have a chance for a proper talk.
''Good as always'' I replied giving him a kiss.
''Only good?''
''Okay I'm great, now that I've seen you'' I rolled my eyes just to tease him.
''That's my babe'' he smiled giving me another intense kiss just as Brian, Lauren and Darren joined us.
''Hey! We have to eat here you know!'' Lauren teased.
''Oh like we didn't have to watch you and Darren eat each others face out all these years'' Joey replied to her.
''We don't make out in public!... that much...''
''I rest my case.''
''Oh shut it Richter'' she smiled, ''anyway, Izzy, you need to ditch your boyfriend today 'cause I need you after school. My parents are making me go to this dinner party so I need a new outfit.''
''No problem, consider him ditched'' I replied.
BRIAN'S POV
''So Abby, I was thinking, you and me should go on a date soon.''
''Um... really?'' she replied kind of surprised.
''Yeah. I've been flirting with you for a whole week now. I think I deserve a chance'' I winked at her. I couldn't believe how good I was at playing this. For the past week I was always around her, talking to her, flirting, acting like I was really interested in her. And the best part is she was totally buying it. She giggled and blushed the whole time. I much as I hate doing this 'cause I don't like this girl at all, it's kind of fun to mess with her.
''Okay Brian, yes, I'd like to go on a date with you'' she smiled.
To make it even more convincing I placed my hand around her waist and pulled her closer to me, and rested my other hand or her tight. I was doing this only to draw Izzy's attention, and by the look on Izzy's face I think she's starting to get it, 'cause she was shooting us some confusing glares. I guess this is working out better than I thought.
IZZY'S POV
I couldn't help but notice how close Brian and Abby had become lately. It's weird, too weird. He's always around her, but only when I'm around. I don't know why, and maybe I'm wrong, but there's something weird about it. I better have a talk with Abby after lunch, 'cause I have a funny feeling my best friend is gonna end up hurt in some way and that's the last thing I want.
''...and then we can go for a drink or something, okay? Izzy? Hello!!''
''Ha?! What? Sorry'' I replied snapping out of my thoughts.
''I said we can go for a drink after the mall?'' Lauren chuckled.
''Yeah, definitely.''
''Good. We better go to class, it'll start soon.''
''Wait a second'' Joey stopped me as we all got up. ''You're not leaving without a kiss.''
''Another one?'' I asked smiling.
''It's our duty to kiss all the time, we are the hottest couple of school. People mush have something to gossip about.''
''What ever you say Joey'' I shook my head and pulled him into a passionate kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck.
''Hey Abbs, can we talk about something?'' I asked my friend during chemistry. The subject was awfully boring but the teacher was great so all we did was talk all the time.
''Of course, what kind of question is that?'' she smiled.
''It's because... it's about Brian...''
''What about him?''
''I don't know how to say this Abbs, you know you're my friend and I love you more than anyone right?'' I started not really knowing how to tell this to her. ''And it's just that, don't get this wrong, but are you sure Brian has honest intentions with you? Are you sure he's not just messing with you?''
''What are you talking about?''
''I just... it's weird how he's suddenly always around you, and this is Brian Holden we're talking about. I just don't want him to hurt you or something. 'Cause I have this feeling that he has some other motives to be around you.''
''So you're saying he isn't with me 'cause he likes me?'' she asked sounding a bit angry.
''I'm just...''
''But Joey is with you 'cause he has real feelings for you?! A popular guy can't possibly like me, but when it comes to you than anything is possible?''
''I'm just telling you to be careful'' I replied seeing that he completely misunderstood me, and that she is obviously fallen head over feet for him.
''I don't need to be careful Izzy'' she snapped, ''it's not my problem you're jealous.''
''Jealous?!'' I snapped now as well. ''You know what, do whatever you want, but don't come crying to me when you get hurt.''
We didn't speak for the rest of the class. The nerve of this girl! The old Izzy would have apologized now and did everything to make up with her best friend, but the new Izzy knows she's right and there is now way in hell I'm loosing anymore time on this bitch. Especially since I know Brian has some ulterior motive, and I have a funny feeling that whatever it is, it involves me.
