the boys pulled a quick one and disappeared and now lilly may or may not be going crazy.

"Why won't you accept the truth? Just try to give it a chance", I complained. I understood my claims about the stuffed animals sounded ridiculous, but I didn't know how I could tell her the truth without sounding like a freak. If I were really joking, I doubt I could have made it last so long. It was true that I did prank her often, but none of my tricks were this intense.
"I don't care. We're still going to the phycologist and you're still getting checked!", she announced. A cool breeze from outside rushed into the house. I shivered as it flew against my body. As I stepped out, I turned back to face the teddy bears in the living room.
I broke eye contact and scolded myself for fearing the inanimate objects. I got in the passenger seat of the car and stared out the window, watching landscapes fade away and turn into new ones. Slowly, my eyelids started to feel heavy and the world turned into darkness.
"We're here", a hand shook me awake from my deep slumber.
I rubbed my eyes groggily and stepped out of the car.
"I can't believe you're actually taking me to the doctor when I'm the medical student", I rolled my eyes. She decided to ignore my remark. Lifting my arms, I twisted my body from one side to the other. Feeling the bones in my body rearrange themselves, I began to feel more relaxed.
"Let's go inside". We both walked towards what looked like the hospital. The building stretched multiple feet towards the sky and was painted a blinding white color. It was covered in large windows which continued through the length of the building. A large red cross was hung across the top half of the building. In bold red letters, it read, "Trinity Medical Center".
The building was filled with people, even this early in the morning. Patients and their relatives were rushing in and out of the building, some were crying and some looked relieved. The pale washed out walls added to the gloominess.
"Stay here, I'm going to get the papers". Sierra hurried over to the front desk to collect the packet, leaving me by myself.
I sat down in a black metal chair. My friend came back with a brown clipboard stuffed with papers. I filled out all the blanks with a black ball pen. Leaning back, I feel the cool metal of the chair press into my skin.
A sad feeling settled in me. I couldn't explain what it was but I felt like I didn't belong here. The dullness of the hospital made the feeling seem even more surreal.
I felt like I was a misunderstood little kid, and Sierra was my mom. What hurt the most was she didn't even consider what I was saying but brushed it right off.
"Lillian Hwang? Dr. Zhang is ready to see you", a small lady peeked out from behind the white door.
It was my turn.
