"Who are you?", I questioned as I rose to my full height. At first glance, I noticed how tall he was. I only reached his shoulder. His limbs were almost twice the size of mine, I guessed he was over 6 foot.
"I told you, I'm Lucas", he removed his hood and continued to stare at me. Brown, fluffy hair sprung out of his hood as he took it off. He ran his hand through his thick hair, ruffling it. His face was quite small, and his hands were huge. Thick, brown eyebrows framed his large, brown eyes. I had to admit, he was very attractive. But that didn't matter right now.
Ignoring him, I turned around to see a faint outline of a person in the car.
Another one?
I walked over to the car, curious to see who was inside. I peered inside the open window, only to see another guy looking back at me. This guy's hair was also brown, and he looked just as attractive as the other one.
"And who are you?", I asked in anger. I was worn out and tired, I had enough. I just hoped this was all a bad dream.
"Try guessing", he smirked, looking at me with his round eyes. He looked so familiar, it was like I knew him my whole life.
I ground my teeth in irritation, and seethed, "Who are you?". This time, I spoke with more anger and command in my voice, demanding him to tell the truth.
"Ok fine. I'll tell you", he grinned as he stepped out of the car.
He stepped in front of me, and leaned down to look into my eyes. I gulped, staring back at him. Although he wasn't as tall as Lucas, he was still taller than me. However, there was something different about this guy. He looked more boyish, like someone I would have met in high school.
He looked like a nice person, but there was something very bizarre. I knew this person. He looked irritatingly familiar. And his eyes, I've seen them somewhere. I tried painfully hard to recall where I had seen him before. I raked through the depths of my memory, but found no match.
"How could you leave me behind Lilly?".
I stared at him in perplexity.
Because I was so f*cking dumb, it took me a good minute to figure out what he was saying.
My jaw dropped, and I stared at him in disbelief. At first, this whole situation seemed hilariously funny, like I was being pranked or something.
As if he could read my mind he stated, "I'm not joking".
"You're not my dog. You just can't be my dog", I mumbled, clutching my hair. My eyes widened to the size of saucers. I couldn't comprehend the disturbing words that came out of his mouth.
"He's right. Mark is your dog", Lucas walked over to us, and stood next to "my dog".
"Cut the bullshit. What the hell do you want from me?", I seethed. I knew they were telling the truth. I couldn't find my dog after I left the house. And that guy, Mark, his eyes said it all. The connection I couldn't form before was now crystal clear.
"This is not a joke, we're dead serious", Lucas snapped back at me. His voice was already deep when he spoke normally, but it turned scary when he was yelling. Flinching from his sudden outburst, my eyes flickered back and forth.
Mark wrapped his arm around me, turning me toward the house. I stared at him in disbelief while he acted like we were best friends.
I was dragged back into my house by the two men in front of me. They sat me in a red arm chain and stood directly in front of me.
A few seconds went by when no one said anything. I stared at them, and they stared back at me.
"Then show me", I started, looking at Mark. He looked at me in uncertainty.
"Show me. You're Peanut, right? Then show me how you did it. How did you transform", I inquired.
His lips curled into a smile at my curiosity.
"Of course. Watch carefully", he moved back and closed his eyes.
In less than a second, he vanished into thin air. The clothes he was once wearing, all fell to the floor in a pile. A small, brown snout peeked out from under the thick brown hoodie and skinny jeans.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was impossible. My dog walked out from under the clothes and stared at me. It's tongue stuck out from his mouth. Peanut smiled. Usually, I would find this cute, but right now it was f*cking creepy.
My dog wasn't even a dog.
If my dog was actually Mark...does that mean he's seen me...CHANGE?
I was struck with bewilderment. All the embarrassing things I've done when I thought I was alone came back rushing into my head. A faint blush crept onto my face as I recalled everything I've done.
You idiot, there are two strangers in your house, and you're thinking about this?!
"Turn back into yourself", I told the dog in front of me.
Talking to my dog would never be the same. I used to tell him everything from how annoying my professors were to how the guy in my anatomy class was ignoring me. It was like talking to myself, I didn't expect him to respond, but I just wanted to rant to him.
"You might want to turn around", Lucas warned me.
"Why?", I questioned the large man in front of me.
"Because he changes back naked", he informed me with a straight face.
"Oh". Flustered, I got off the chair and turned my back to the two guys in my house.
I felt a hand tap my shoulder, "You can turn around now".
I turned around to see Mark fully dressed. At this point, I had to accept everything I was seeing. Little did I know, I would be shocked again.
"Whatever you were thinking before is true", I heard Mark whisper in my ear. A blush crept up my face as I remembered what thoughts were going around in my head.
So he did see me change.
A series of thumping sounds came from upstairs, followed by heavy footsteps. I stared at Mark and Lucas in suspicion.
"Actually, there are a couple people we want you to meet", Mark told me, looking upstairs. I really expected a couple, but I didn't know I would be seeing a whole crowd.
"GUYS YOU CAN COME DOWN NOW!", Lucas yelled, cupping two hands around his mouth.
One by one, fifteen men walked the stairs in a single file line. Some were tall and some were short, but they were all very handsome. They all gave me warm smiles and introduced themselves to me.
"So there are 17 of you guys", I asked curiously. My eyes scanned the boys scattered throughout the living room. Some were sitting on the sofas, some on chairs, and some on the side tables.
"We're missing one", the red-haired one spoke. Mark told me his name was Taeyong, and unlike his soft voice, he seemed a little frightening. The way his dark eyebrows framed his intrusive eyes felt a little too intimidating.
"We've been keeping something from you", the red-haired man confessed.
I stared at him for the answer.
A light-haired boy stepped out from the hand full of boys in my living room. And through Mark, I was able to find out we were the same age.
"We'reactuallyyourteddybearsbutyoufreedussowebecamehumanagain", the boy my age, Jisung blurted. His words were too incoherent for me to process.
"Huh?".
"We're your teddy bears", Yuta stated blankly, looking at me.
I raised my eyebrows and emptily stared at them.
So how was I going to explain this to Sierra?
