ADDING OCS TO STORIES

so this is not only an issue I have myself but it also an issue I see in many fics, not just Riverdale! ones.

I'm a HUGE lover of adding original characters into fics, in fact that's the only way I'll write a fic because I can make it my own.

however this comes with a limit!1!1!1!1! please recognize these fatalities in original character additions:

- COMPLETELY changing the plot (for example, putting an OC in for Betty, taking out Jason and making Betty the one who ends up dead)

- mistaking an AU for a fic (will have another chapter about this)

- forgetting the plot line

- having the oc replace a main character

- losing sight of the fandom you're writing about.

ALL of these can be attributed to a failed fanfic but if you do choose to add an original character, do your best to keep the story within it's fandom boundaries unless specified before hand
