“Shit,” I mumbled. I began running even faster than I was before. I passed the ‘Millsburry’ sign and instantly knew my house was only two streets down.

I heard the rough footsteps of the people behind me. I don’t know why, but I wanted to stop. I wanted to stop running to find out who they were. I just wanted to pause life, just for a second and lift up their masks.

But, you can’t do that. I turned the corner of the street and looked to the side as I did so. I saw only three guys running at me.

I looked straight ahead and saw my street, ‘Creek.’ My legs were sore, but I couldn’t give up now. My house is so close yet so far. I turned the corner and saw my house right half way down the street.

I almost started crying as the footsteps behind me seemed to get closer and closer. I sprint over the sidewalk curb and to my front.

“Please be unlocked,” I cry to myself, throwing myself at the door, turning the doorknob.

I go inside and instantly slam the door behind me, throwing my back against it. I locked the door by sticking my hand behind my back. My dog, Alice, continuously barked at me rather loudly. I saw the shadow of someone on my doorstep through the designed stained glass beside the door.

They banged on the door, causing me to lightly shake. I looked at Alice and she began growling. I moved away from the door and pressed my chest against it, looking out the small peep hole.

“Open the door, Perrie!” They yelled through the door.

“How do you know my name?” I yelled as well, wiping my eyes.

 “It’s Harry.”

My stomach dropped, remembering the awful memories that they had scarred me for life with. I looked at Alice as she hunched down and growled even louder. I closed my eyes and put my hand on my chest, trying to catch my breath.

 “Just a minute.” I spoke.
