"I asked mother to get me the masks, and I believe that they're the right colours," Jeanne whispered to Hailie and Cinderella. "Cinderella, your blue one, and Hailie, your golden one."

The girls smiled as Jeanne handed them the beautiful, silk soft, masquerade fashioned masks.

"You'd better go get dressed. I'll make sure mother doesn't see!" Then Jeanne skipped out of the girls' bedroom, over to the front door where her mother was waiting.

Without saying a word to the two 'disgusting servants', Ms Parker, Lydia, Bethany and Jeanne exited the house. By this time, Cinderella and Hailie had already put on their dresses and shoes, followed by their beautiful, silky masks and the makeup from Jeanne's drawer.

The girls snuck out the back entrance, and walked away to the royal palace. Within five minutes, the girls had reached their destination, so they waited anxiously for their family to arrive, hoping that they would not recognise them.

Almost instantly, Prince Jack fell in love with the two girls' beauty, and started wondering which of the two he should dance with. Eventually, he went over to the two, and asked Hailie to dance.

Delighted, Hailie accepted the offer, wanting to take her mind off her worries. But Cinderella was not jealous, for she enjoyed watching her best friend enjoying herself. It made her happy, and warm inside.

Ms Parker, Lydia and Bethany did not recognise Cinderella, but they did recognise Hailie. As soon as they saw the girl dancing with the prince, they took her home. And when they got there, Cinderella was back in her work clothes, scrubbing the dirty floors of the house.
