"Hello?"

Doctor Strange and Peter had been walking for what had seemed like a week. They'd scoured the Battle of Wakanda, only to find traces of footprints in one of the forests. Whoever had been there was long gone. Then they'd moved to a smaller battle, which seemed to be on another planet. Footprints again, nothing more. They weren't sure what they were searching for, who they were searching for. They just needed to find something, or someone, that could give them a hint as to what they were supposed to do. They weren't going to walk aimlessly forever... Right? Just as they entered the Battle of New York, they finally saw something.
Someone.
It was a girl. Maybe fourteen or fifteen, she walked down one of the streets, looking about in awe, blinking furiously. To their surprise she never flickered, never faltered. As far as they could tell, she was real.
"Hello?" Peter called out, before Strange could stop him. She whirled, looking startled. Peter stared, turning to see if he could still see her out of the corner of his eye. She was there. He raised a hand awkwardly. "Hello?" he asked again, weakly. She swallowed.
"Hello..?" The girl made a move as if to start towards them, then hesitated. "Where are we?"
"I was hoping we could ask you that same question..." Peter shrugged, giving a lopsided smile.
"Peter..." Strange warned him, but he ignored him, instead walking towards the girl.
"Sorry," she shrugged, then, pausing, she added, "I'm dreaming, right?"
"I don't think so," Peter said apologetically.
"I have to be," she said quietly. "None of this is possible. You can't be real. This... This can't be real." She was close, now, and before he could step away she reached out to touch his hand - But her own hand went right through it. She nodded as he stared in surprise. "I knew it."
"What -" he started, but then she flickered. He drew back, starting to move the other way. Strange had already started towards them.
"What's happening -" she asked, but then she flickered again, and her voice wavered. "Tom - Tommy -" And then she was gone. Strange stopped in his tracks, and the two stared in disbelief. Then two other figures became visible in the distance.
"Help us!" The first one said. "Someone! Please!"
Strange glanced at Peter, then the two began running forward towards them. There were three men. One was a soldier with long, dark hair and a metal arm. The second was a man with closely-cropped black hair, wearing some sort of jet-pack and red goggles. The third had both arms draped over the others' shoulders and was groaning. Peter recognized him immediately.
"It's the Black Panther..." he said quietly. He slowly realized he knew the others as well. Turning his attention back to the king, he noticed the man was limping, barely able to hold himself, even with the help of the others. As he began to move faster, he saw what had hurt him.
"Get out of the way!" he shouted towards them, but it was too late. He made the mask of his suit emerge and Strange conjured two shields, right on time. The five men were suddenly surrounded by an army.
