6.5 seconds started it all

Part 5

Today was the event so we all got ready and headed out. Since it wasn't just the old magcon fam there were more people there. O2L and King bach were there too.

We were about to kick off the meet and greet when I got a text. It was from Cameron.

*Mal come backstage now, it's Matt he's not good*

I rushed backstage as fast as I could. They were loading Matt into the ambulance. Carter was in with him. He motioned me to come with them. Matt is honestly one of my best friends. Next to Kenz and Cam that is.

I got in the ambulance and Matt was unconscious.

"Carter what the hell happened?"

"I don't know Mal his nose started bleeding. He's been really sleepy lately and I can barely wake him up in the mornings. He just passed out while we were sitting backstage." Carter finally got out after a long pause.

"Uhm excuse me, sorry, so nose bleed, sleepy, and fainting?" the paramedic interrupted.

"Yes sir" me and Carter said at the same time.

The paramedic didn't say anything else. He was busy trying to wake up Matt. He finally got him awake, me and Carter switched places. I held Matt's hand and he looked at me. It wasn't the Matt I know. The Matt I know shows joy when he looks at you.

This wasn't joy. Matt's sick and I know it's not good.. At all.

We finally got to the hospital. They took him in so we went to the waiting room. I looked around and found Taylor. The rest of the fam was there but I needed Taylor.

We waited and waited and finally the nurse came. "Only 2 can go back there at a time." The nurse was very nice it just frustrated us. Me and Carter went back there. The guys and everyone kinda switched out. I had to stay with Matt in case the doctors came. I've been through shit like this before. The guys said I have the most experience with this.

After about an hour the Doctor finally came. "Hi Matt we're gonna tell you some news is it okay if your friend stays?"

Matt just grabbed my hand and the doctor smiled at me.

"Matt we are going to run some more test on you but for now we just have some bad news." the doctor stopped talking and looked down. He looks like a pretty young doctor. "This is my first time telling someone this so stay strong okay?"

"Matthew, you have leukemia. Now we are gonna run some test but I'll give you a minute with your friend."

Matt didn't say anything, he just sat there. Then he looked at me and his grip got stronger. "Mal, I'm going to d-"

"Matthew Lee Espinosa don't say it. You are going to live. Your strong okay, you've got to stay strong for me Matt."

"I love you Mal. I anything your the strong one. You've been through the most." Matt said with his head down.

"Matt now your the one with the hardest situation. So this means you've got to be the strong one. I'm gonna go talk to the fam. When I get back we're gonna pray about this okay?"

"Alright" he whispered.
