James's pov

We went back to our compartment. Wormtail and Moony were already in the compartment. Moony was reading something and Wormtail was eating, which was what they were always doing.

Things were alright between all of us again, thank goodness. Remus didn't talk to us for weeks after that prank on Patil. We agreed not to tease her anymore or at least we won't let him see.

Padfoot had a brooding look on his face. I wondered why. I could often see beyond his upfront that he displayed. He seemed a bit shaken about something. Maybe he was feeling bad for the Patil girl?

Nah, how can that be? Sirius Black was not serious about any girl. I remembered the way she had turned her head away from us, her eyes filled with unshed tears and felt a twinge of guilt. I crushed it down. We weren't supposed to feel anything for her. She was an example. An example for people to learn what happens to people when they mess with the marauders.

"Padfoot, you alright mate?" I mutter.

Sirius started. "Uhm, um yeah. Why?" he said not looking me in the eye.

"Nothing.... You looked like something was bothering you" I ask uncertainly.

He nods.

Remus looks at us. "Where were both of you?" he asks suspiciously.

Sirius lets out a careless laugh.
"Prongs here was getting told off by Evans.... Nothing more than usual".

I scowled at him.

"Maybe I won't let you be the best man when I marry her" I told him.

My friends were laughing too hard.

"Maybe you should wait until she could be in the same room as you without wanting to hex you into oblivion, you know...... Bit early for the wedding bells to ring isn't it?" Remus snickered.

We played games with animal crackers after that. I imitated a lion, Peter, a squirrel, Remus, an elephant and to our great surprise, Sirius produced the beautiful voice of a nightingale.

I noticed Sirius looking out of the window with a lost expression. He probably  had problems at home.

Third person pov

The marauders sat at the centre of the table making a lot of racket whenever a new member joined the Gryffindor table.
The fourth year girls sat a corner, occasionally clapping whenever a new member joined their house table.
Daria looked around and caught a certain marauder's eye. They both looked away as soon as their eyes met. But the quiet exchange wasn't missed by a certain blonde boy.

Daria's pov

"Ria, earth to Ria" Lily snapped her fingers in front of my face, bringing me back to reality.

I smile at her weakly. The girls are discussing a pedicure party they planned in our dorm for the weekend.

I have always hated attention, so I never drew attention to myself during class, especially potions. I always submitted acceptable work during potions, never excellent because Slughorn pays more attention to students who excel. Other than that, I am one of the best students in our year along with Lily and Remus Lupin.

But that wasn't possible anymore, I thought a bit scared . I had been doing apprenticeship under the sorceress Circe during the summer and if I embarrass her by submitting mediocre work she'll sure jinx me. Of all the things I learned, Charmspeak seemed really cool. But it was really hard. I could only convince people to pass me the salt or something like that!

I had also learned a few potions that wizards don't use regularly. Strictly ancient Greek stuff.

Slowly the tables clear and we all go chattering up to the tower.

I climb on my bed after changing into a pretty nightgown. I had bought it from one of the gift shops in Circe's Island.

"Ooh, that is soooooo pretty" Lily squeaked looking at my nightgown.

"More from where that came from" I smile.

I hand out the nighties I got for them from Circe's Island.

"These are gifts apologising for not being able to contact you guys during the holidays" I say ashamed.

"There was absolutely no need of getting us stuff, what are friends for?" Alice says.

But they let out squeals of delight when they open the parcels. I had gotten Lily a mint green floor length one which will hug her curves perfectly. Alice had gotten a beautiful wine red one. It won't clash with her her dark brown hair and would look good against her creamy skin. For Marlene, who was a blonde, I had gotten a blue lacy one.

"I thought since Alice has a boyfriend I might as well as get her a really seductive colour.... God knows they could probably use it" I wiggle my eyebrows at her.

Alice blushes a deeper colour than the nightgown and throws her pillow at me while Lily and Marlene laughs really hard.

"You see since Marlene is the only blonde in the gang I thought she could look like Cindrella" I said.

Lily is the only one who got it. She explains to Marlene and Alice about muggle fairy tales.

My mum had read muggle fairy tales to me when I was smaller plus I had almost grown up with Percy Jackson, my half brother. Tyson was my other brother but even though he was bigger than me in size he was actually my baby brother. He was 12 years old but was taller than Percy and at times of battle, the size of a small village. Percy was twenty-two years old.

The girls were chatting nonstop but I dozed off. I felt someone putting a blanket on top of me and I slipped into slumber.

Peter's pov

The guys were taking the mickey out of me as usual. I stumbled across a something and fell face first. They roared with laughter. Remus looked at me kindly and offered me a hand. I took it gratefully.

We had all become animagi by the end our third year to help him. Ofcourse I had to be a rat. Sirius thought it was really funny. Whenever I walked past he would say "Don't rat us out, Wormtail" or " really.... I think I just saw a rat" or threaten to set Mrs. Norris on me. "I swear to Merlin, if you don't shut up I will make sure that Mrs. Norris will have a really good dinner tonight". I wasn't as witty as him with my comebacks so the teasing persisted.

"You know guys, I think I'll go to the library before classes tomorrow. Just to check my essay against the actual facts or something. Don't want to give McGonagall a bloody heart attack when she checks my essay" Sirius said, stretching on his back.

James gasped and Remus snickered.
"Sirius Black going to the library? Merlin!!!! When did pigs start flying?" they all howl with laughter and I don't get it.

James notices and patiently explains the muggle expression about pigs flying. Sirius snorts.

"If you were going any slower Wormtail, you would have been going backwards" he smirked. James and Remus laugh.

I blush, thoroughly embarrassed.

They have a discussion about a typical teacher's favourite students. Remus and Lily Evans would top the list apparently.

"If it were coming to selecting people on a priority basis I would definitely select you and Moony" Sirius guffawed to Prongs.

"Yeah like you could ever be a teacher!!!" James laugh and Remus nods agreeing with him.
I try not to feel hurt. Sirius didn't feel the need to include me and James and Remus didn't even feel that something was missing.

I wonder if they'll ever notice if I go missing. Probably not. I was invisible. I crush down the feelings of hurt and roll over to go to sleep.
