"I cant believe it, she's actually dead." Rich sobbed.
Tracking down Rich hadnt been hard. They had traced where the message had been sent from and 30 minutes later here they were. Laura, who was 14, had been talking to Rich,19, for nearly 2 months. Laura who had been from a small town 2 hours away, had came to Austin.
"She said she wanted to meet me. So I let her. She left the apartment block at 9am this morning, she said she had to catch her train. But I cant believe it, she...she's dead." Rich broke down, tears of grief spilling down onto his massive hands.
"Im sorry for your loss, Mr BlackBerry, but right now your our top suspect. Your going to be on constant watch so dont leave town." Lisbon hated this part of the job. Patrick walked around the apartment. There was nothing about Rich. No pictures, it was bare. Lisbon stood up and walked to Jane.
"We need to go, Abott needs us to go speak to her parents." Jane rolled his eyes and left the apartment, leaving Lisbon to finnish things up. Climbing into the drivers seat of his massive R.V., the couple set off on long journey towards the small town of Collorcoats.
"Im so sorry Ma'am." Consoled Lisbon. The mother was pourig her heart out, but that was to be expected. "Your daughter was found in a park in Austin, apparently she stayed the night at a boys house." The mother looked up suddenly.
"A boy? She said she was staying at Jess' house!"
"Jess?"
"My daughter is quite active on the internet. She's been talking to 1000's of people on the internet. Only a few weeks ago, I took her to Austin to meet Jess, a friend from the internet. She seemed okay, so I wasnt really bothered when she said she was getting the train to meet her. Im such a bad mother." The mother broke down again. Lisbon stood up and put her hand on the mothers shoulder.
"Not at all," She said coursely. "It's not your fault. But im sorry, we need to ask you a few questions. Where were you on the night of the murder?"
She looked up in to Lisbons eyes.
"I was with my friend, why would I kill my own daughter?" She started crying.
"No, not at all. I have to ask, its policy."
"I was with my friend, we were going out for a meal, she's leaving you see."
"Oh,okay thanks. We'll get in touch with you."
"Thanks." The mother showed them out. They walked towards the R.V,
"Well she's guilty," joked Jane.
"Oh shut up," Replied Lisbon. Sometimes she couldnt put up with his annoyingness. As she sat down in the passengers seat of the R.V, he leaned over and kissed her gently on the cheek. She lookd at him, noticing the way his eyes twinkled and the corners of his mouth curled up when he smiled. But thats wasnt why she loved him. She loved him for his personality. The way he could make her smile in a second; his inteligence highed than hers. She had always had feelings for him, but that had lay dormant. It was only when he said he loved her was when her feeling rose to the top. Jisbon She thought Thats our ship name. She closed her eyes as the van trundled off.
"Well the moms alibi worked out," Said Abott, " Cho and Fischer went and talked to Jess. They're back now, I think they're in the canteen now."
