Bonding with Secrets

All the Avengers sit around the dinning room table because they have a guest so they might as well be presentable and make a good impression.

Matt is sitting next to Bruce and Clint on either side of him and Tony and Steve sit on the other side with Thor on the end of the table.

Its lunch time and they are having ham and cheese sandwiches and just some other random foods like fruit and side things.

Everyone digs into the food right when Steve places everything down, besides Matt.

"Matt you gonna eat?" Steve says looking at the 19 year old.

"I...yeah sorry" Matt says trying to hide the fact that he didn't know where the food was located on the table. The sandwich were smell-less for some reason.

"Its okay were just looking out for you" Bruce says to Matt.

"Thanks, you guys have helped me through a lot so thank you" Matt says with a smile. They really were nice...maybe I should tell them that i'm blind.

"No problem its what we do" Clint says taking a huge bit of his sandwich.

Time skip to after lunch:

Matt found the food and finished it in about 6 mins. He was hungry which was surprising considering how little he ate.... he sometimes gets distracted and loses track of time.

"Hey, why don't we watch a movie" Tony says jumping up from his chair.

"Sounds good, ill make some popcorn" Steve says and goes into the kitchen. Everyone else stands up and heads to the living room.

Matt sits on the couch with Tony and Bruce while Clint and Thor sit on the ground like usual.

"What should we watch?" Bruce says to his fellow teammates.

"OOooo! We should watch Shutter Island! Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the best actors ever!" Clint says excitedly.

"Clint haven't we watched that like 1 billion times?" Tony says crossing his arms.

"Yeah...but its so good!" Clint says stretching out the 'good' like a child.

"I think we should watch the movie of the runners" Thor says and then Clint nods because he loves the Maze Runner also.

"I think..." Tony says but is cut off by Bruce.

"We should let Matt choose, he is our guest after all" Bruce says making everyone look at Matt.

"Ummm" Matt saying trying to think of what movie to watch (or listen to in his case). He doesn't really remember watching any movies when he was young and had sight but he's heard of some movies.

"How about Inception because Clint likes Leonardo DiCaprio and its an adventure movie kinda like the Maze Runner" Matt says trying to remember the information his friend was telling him about the movie.

"Sound great! Good choice!" Clint says jumping up and down like a little kid ready to get ice cream.

"Jarvis play the movie Inception" Tony says to his AI.

"Yes sir" Jarvis says and starts the movie on Tony's big TV screen.

They watch the movie but every time they laugh or gasp Matt doesn't because he can't see the movie so he has no idea whats going on. He's really confused but try's not to show his confusion on his face.

"Matt you okay" Bruce says noticing Matt's confusion.

"Yeah i'm good just a little tired" Matt says trying to act like nothing's wrong. He wasn't lying entirely because he was extremely tired. When your blind you do tend to get more tired than people who aren't blind because of how much energy you use just to get around.

"Okay well I think we should all get some rest" Bruce says and everyone gets up and heads to there rooms. Only Matt and Bruce stay behind.

"Matt before I take you to your room your staying in I just want to check something out" Bruce says catching Matt's arm to wait a sec.

"Umm ok" Matt says to Bruce confused. 'Does he know i'm blind?' Matt thinks but is soon being led to what he presumes is Bruce's lab.

They make it to Bruce's lab and Matt is seated on a lab/doctors metal table. "Ok I saw that your eyes wern't actually looking at us when you talked, they were always a little off so I just wanted to make sure your eyes were ok" Bruce says to Matt and Matt expediently knows whats gonna happen...but for some reason he's fine with it. "so i'm going to shine a light in your eyes for one sec...is that ok?" Bruce says and Matt just nods. 'He might as well let him figure it out himself' Matt thinks.

"Ok" Bruce says and grabs his doctor LED pen light. Then Bruce shines the light in Matt's eyes...but something wrong.

"uhhhh..." Bruce says shining it again in Matt's eyes getting no response from them. 'Why aren't his eyes reacting to the light?' Bruce thinks.

Matt can hear Bruce's heart rate speed up and he finally just decides to tell him.

"I don't understand...are you.." Bruce starts to say and is cut off by Matt.

"Yes i'm blind" Matt says reassuring Bruce that he is perfectly fine....well kinda.

"Oh...well that actually makes more sense" Bruce says finally relaxing.

"Yeah... I've been blind since I was 7 so it's normal" Matt says shyly.

"Oh... well do you want me to tell the others or no?" Bruce says looking at the youngest person in the tower.

"Ummm I think ill tell them tomorrow, I'm really tired right now" Matt says starting to get a little dizzy from the lack of sleep.

"Oh yeah don't you need more sleep then a non-blind person?" Bruce says helping Matt up.

"Yeah, we use up way more energy" Matt says as Bruce and him start to walk to his new room, with Matt holding onto Bruce's arm for guidance.

"Ok we're here" Bruce says opening Matt's door for him and then putting his arm out for Matt to take. Matt takes it and is led to his bed.

"Ok, do you need help with anything else?" Bruce says as Matt sits down on the edge of the bed.

"No I think I'll be fine" Matt says to Bruce.

"Ok, I'll see you in the morning and if you need anything Jarvis will alert me" Bruce says.

"Ok thanks"

"No problem, goodnight" Bruce says giving a little wave even though he knows Matt cannot see it.

"Night" Matt says with a smile and then Bruce closes the door.

'Well that went better than I expected' Matt thinks then lays down on the really nice bed. 'Maybe I can trust these people after all' Matt thinks then slowly drifts off into a deep sleep.
