Ivy has no friends in her high school. She doesn't know why. She's always alone. The girls in her class hate her especially, but it seems like the boys don't. Maybe they were jealous that she was always around her brother. Maybe they thought she was in the way. These were all theories as to why they hate her so much.
Ivy sighed as she opened her bento box her mom made her for lunch. She ate slowly and gazed out of her classroom window, waiting for the day to be over.
Three girls approached Ivy and looked at crossed their arms. Ivy turned to look at the girl in the center. It was Reina, and her backups Aya and Yoko. They were the prettiest, most popular girls in their first year class. Also known as "Ivy's Bullies".
"Hey hafu," Reina slammed her hands on her desk. "What you got there, hm?"
"My name's not hafu- it's Ivy. It's very simple to pronounce." Ivy squinted.
"Whatever, dunce. She asked what do you have in your bento." Aya spoke up.
"Rice, obviously." Ivy continued to eat.
"Don't play dumb with me. Give me your lunch, or you won't eat at all." Reina glared.
"Why are you so interested in my lunch? Get your own." Ivy rolled her eyes.
"That's it- nothing for you." Reina took her hand and swatted her lunch box off her desk, the rice and vegetables falling to the floor.
"My food! Hey, my mom made that!" Ivy panicked.
"This is all your fault. It probably wasn't good anyway. Your mom probably doesn't even know how to make Japanese food." Reina spat.
"What are you trying to say?" Ivy raised an eyebrow.
"I'm saying that you and your family can't do things the Japanese way, hafu. The right way. You mutt!" Reina got up in Ivy's face and screeched the last word "mutt", making the other girls repeat after her.
"Mutt! You're a disgrace!" Aya and Yoko hollered.
"You take that back, you bitches!!" Ivy ran up to the girls and starting swinging at them. Reina got startled and her backups dragged her away.
"Get back here, Fujikawa Reina!!" Ivy darted out of the classroom and ran down the hallway, following the three girls.
"Hafu mutt!!" Ivy heard the girls yell down the hall.
"Ugh..." Ivy sighed. As she turned around she suddenly bumped into someone. She looked up. It was Jotaro.
"Jojo-! You- you didn't see anything... did you?"
"Heard all of it. Saw them running." Jotaro shook his head.
"Next time I'll see Reina and her dogs, I'll spit on them. A thousand times!" Ivy pouted.
"I'm sorry." Jotaro tipped down his cap.
"For what?"
"I couldn't protect you from those dirtbags. That was-"
"Racist? Rude? Absolutely ridiculous? Yeah, I know."
"It's odd though. Reina, Yoko and Aya are one of my groupies. Ew." Jotaro squinted.
"Ew, what hypocrites. They hate me but they love you. Sucks to be me, right?"
"I'll figure something out. I want... this to stop." Jotaro shrugged.
"Me too nii-nii." Ivy playfully punched his shoulder.
"Anyways- why are you in the first year hallway?" Ivy wondered.
"Hm. Boy's bathrooms are shut down. Had to come use this one."
"Reasonable."
"I have to go now. Ivy- I think I have a solution to our problems." Jotaro reassured his sister.
"Oh?"
"Mhm. It's gonna take a bit of time."
"Ugh. Just go do your business."
"Alright. Bye sis."
Ivy and Jotaro departed, thinking about their odd student lives.
