Another boring, no good, very bad day for Ivy Kujo.
Ivy slumps into her desk seat during homeroom before the day starts. She sighs and mumbles into her sleeve. Ivy was done because she got into an argument with her wild older brother again. She was practically stressed out by his odd behavior.
"I. Want. To. Die." She slammed her head against her desk.
"Eh? What's wrong, Ivy?" Said a voice. Ivy looked up to meet the face of her only friend, Kagiyama Miu.
"Miu," Ivy pouted. "My brother. He makes me want to die."
"Why? Your brother seems so cool and intelligent."
"Miu- he's an ass."
"He's not an ass. He's charming. Not to mention badass. He's every girl's dream~!" Miu sighed longingly.
"Ew. Miu, this is my brother. I can't believe you fell for him too!" Ivy banged her head even harder onto her desk.
"I'm sorry Ivy! I just don't see why you hate Jojo so much." Miu tilted her head.
"He's a pompous ass who only cares about himself. All he does is cuss at me and mom. God, I just wish he was back to his normal self..." Ivy shook her head.
"What was he like before he had his bad boy persona?" Miu asked.
"He was much more caring. He never said anything bad, always volunteered to help, he would do anything to make me or mom happy. He was a good brother... someone I looked up to."
"Ohhh."
"Now all he does is smoke cigarettes all day, drink beer 24/7, shout at me and mom, trash the house, and leaves without telling us!" Ivy whined. Miu patted her back.
"Ivy, it's gonna be okay. I'm sure that your brother still secretly cares for you two. You're his family, after all."
"Yeah..."
The bell rings. Everyone gets into their seats. All of the students stand up when the teacher enters the room. It was Ivy's time to greet the teacher (she was class rep).
"Good morning, Mr. Ozawa!" The class repeated after Ivy.
"Good morning class, today will be a very special day! We have a new transfer student entering our second-year classroom." Mr. Ozawa turned to the door and called the new student in. "You may come in!"
A tall boy with red hair and a green gakuran walked inside. He had cherry earrings and a long bang off to the side. He was slender and had the prettiest eyes Ivy has ever seen.
"Good morning. My name is Noriaki Kakyoin. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Kakyoin bowed.
Ivy's eyes widened.
Kakyoin? Noriaki Kakyoin? From their day at the beach when they were little?
She couldn't believe it. The boy Jotaro and Ivy have been thinking about for years is now right in front of her, and is attending her class.
Their hairstyle was the same, and Ivy could remember those amethyst colored eyes. It was definitely the kid from the beach.
"Ivy," Mr. Ozawa turned to her. "You will be looking after our new student for his first week here. You're our class rep, after all."
"Y-yes sir!" She bowed.
When Ivy looked back up to face Kakyoin, they both made brief eye contact. It seemed like his eyes widened for a second.
"Um-! Kakyoin-san, please sit at this desk over here. We can share textbooks for now." Ivy gestured.
"Thank you very much." Kakyoin walked over and sat down at the empty desk, right beside Ivy's.
"Alright, let's get to work."
-
After three hours of no actual talking to each other, it was now lunch time. Kakyoin opened his bento and poked at it.
Ivy did the same, taking her spoon and stirring her miso with it. She glanced over at the red haired boy. He was now beginning to mess with his earrings.
"Um," Ivy started. "Hi. I'm Ivy. Ivy Kujo."
Kakyoin looked up at the girl and put on a small smile. "Hello, Kujo-san."
"I know this is a really weird question to ask but- do I look familiar? Even a little?"
Kakyoin eyed her up and down, humming. "Now that you do say that, you do."
"R-really?"
"Yes. I was just going to ask that too."
"Do you remember ever being at a beach? With two kids who were siblings?"
"Hm..." Kakyoin squints his eyes. "Yes, I do believe so."
Suddenly, he widens his eyes. "Were you-? The siblings who tried building a sandcastle??"
Ivy gasped. "It is you!"
"Goodness, I can't believe you're really here." Kakyoin chuckled. "Does your brother go here too?"
"Jotaro? Oh yeah he goes here. He has a reputation and all that junk." Ivy rolled her eyes.
"Ohh." He nodded. "I see what you mean."
"I should tell Jotaro about this! Tell him that we found you! I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees you all grown up." Ivy smirks.
"It's been too long, Ivy. I can't wait to meet up with Jotaro."
"Hm. Trust me though, he's changed."
