All: What's so great about surpassing L?

(Near:) *playing with hair* I am not really that concerned about surpassing him. I'd much rather become the new L when he dies, and follow his footsteps.

(Matt:) I'm not big on surpassing him either. *looks down at game*

(Beyond:) He's trash to me.. I hate him.

(Mello:) I'd much rather surpass Near. All he does is get in my way.
