I'm staring blankly on the plate in front of me. No matter how I love the taste of Alistair's cooking, I've got no appetite for tonight. My mind is preoccupied with thoughts of the previous encounter with our long-lost friend, Lorelei.
"Hindi mo gusto ang niluto ko?" Al looked at me with this concern on his eyes.
"No. It's good." I said plastering a smile on my lips.
"But you haven't take a spoonful nor a bite of it, Jaime. Something's wrong?" Loki asked as if he doesn't know the answer for his last statement.
"Lorelei would be fine. Her fever is not that bad." After a few minutes of silence, Loki uttered while chewing his steak. I can't believe this man!
"You are hopeless Loki. Why can't you understand it?!" I said slightly raising my voice because of irritation.
"I'm not fool Jamie." Loki said while he is still busy with his steak. "It's obvious that Lorelei's anger towards us is pretty serious that she flew to Canada the day after our high school graduation." He narrated without throwing even a single glance at me.
" I can't blame her. She felt betrayed." Alistair answered.
The night after the revelation, Lorie surely changed. She barely go with us, even with Alistair pushing her to tag along,she refuses. She won't reply for more than 5 words whenever I or Loki spoke to her, it's only Alistair whom she had interest talking with.
Somehow I felt guilty that the original partner-in-solving-crimes, Loki and Lori, are not in good terms because of me- being a minion of Moriarty. I do understand that Loki hide the truth from her because he wants to protect her. But Lori put all her trust in us as her friends and co-members and we just happened to broke it. After putting the criminal mastermind before the law, our communication with Lori seems to worsened even more. Days passed so quickly that we finished our senior highschool. And the day after our graduation-when we were supposed to celebrate as a club-we got message from Lorelei wishing us for the best future and congratulating us. We just knew from her father that she went to study abroad...away from us, away from the people who hurt her.
The question now is, how could we gain her trust and put everything back to its place again? Can we ever find a clue that would lead us in solving the mess we made with Lorelei's heart?
