"Toto!" [ name ] yelled, waving over her best friend.
"I told you to stop calling me that, [ name ]," Lotor grumbled. "Might I bring up that beloved nickname you oh-so loved?"
"Please don't," [ name ] whined in reply. "Anything but [ nickname ]!"
"Then don't call me something named after a dog." [ name ] sighed, rolling her eyes as she waved to the chair in front of her.
"Sit."
"Demanding, aren't we?" The white-haired boy's British accent came out more prominently as he teasingly over-pronounced his words.
It was mid-October and, seeing as it had been months since they last saw each other, the two friends had decided to meet up at a local cafe they both enjoyed, wanting to catch up with what had been going on in their lives.
"So, alchemy, huh?" [ name ] began, taking a sip of her [ favorite coffee ].
"Yeah," Lotor laughed, waving over one of the waiters. "It's pretty easy at the moment; just learning simple equations and the study of alchemy."
"Easy for a science nerd like you," [ name ] teased. "College is a little difficult for me, considering I don't really know what to major in quite yet."
"Just doing your mandatory classes?" Lotor asked after ordering his coffee of choice.
"Might as well get them out of the way while I can."
After Lotor had received his coffee, the two were animatedly talking about what had happened in the past few months as well as dwelling on the past. They laughed as well as teased the others' misfortunes. The mood changed, though, when [ name ] had brought up the boy's father.
"Have either of you tried to make amends?" [ name ] asked tentatively, hands wrapped around her cup tightly.
"He...hasn't reached out to me in months," Lotor responded, staring down at his hot beverage. "Ever since he kicked me out, we haven't spoken. My emails never get a response, his phone goes to voicemail straight away, I can't even message him since he's blocked me."
"You know you can always crash at my place," [ name ] consoled, trying for a small smile.
"Thanks," Lotor replied, "but I think continuing to live on campus is my best option. The only contact I really have with him is when he deposits checks into my account because he knows if he's ever late, I'll go over there." The white-haired boy shrugged and sighed. "But I guess I can say I'm okay with it."
"Maybe he'll make amends with you someday," [ name ] offered. "Maybe he just doesn't know how to approach you." [ name ] heard her phone ringing, making her jump as it buzzed in her pocket. The [ h/c ]-colored girl offered an apologetic smile. "Sorry."
"Go ahead." Lotor waved his hand lazily. [ name ] silently mouthed a gratitude of thanks, answering the phone call.
"Hello?" [ name ] began, not recognizing the number. "Oh, Lucielle, hi!...August didn't come in? I'm kinda busy righ–yeah, but it's my only day off! Can't you call someone else, anyone–...I see...Yeah, I'll come in right away...Bye." [ name ] groaned in frustration, looking sadly at her friend. "Sorry to cut this short, Lotor. You could probably tell, but work kinda needs me..."
"It's no problem, [ nickname ]~," Lotor cooed, making [ name ] frown. "We can schedule another time."
"Thanks. Again, I'm really sorry." As the two stood up, they hugged each other, both sharing a "it was nice to see you", before letting each other go. [ name ] then grabbed Lotor's arms, staring him straight in the eye. "I promise I'll make it up to you. You choose next place, no matter how dumpy or extravagant."
"Noted," Lotor chuckled. "Now, shoo, before your boss or whoever gets mad!"

WHOO BOY GET READY FOR THE FEELS 'CAUSE THEY'RE COMING.
I really shouldn't be working on so many things at once, but my talent is bad time management oops. Especially since I had a minor concussion recently and they highly recommend that I "avoid any activities that require a lot of concentration or attention". But hey I've finished most of my shows and have nothing else to do except write.
Updates will be semi-slow and this will probably be a shorter book (around 10 chapters or so is my guess).
Hope y'all like sad stuff.
