Dôbutsu to hanasu Shôjo ! (the girl that speaks with animals !)

Chapter Four

"Onee-chan!!! I'm starving !!!!" Lidalia whined in the middle of the night, in the middle of a forest. The two sisters have gotten away successfully and were now passing through a forest in Clarines.

- "You just ate 5 minutes ago" Mistia answered

- "Fruits don't count ! and it's not enough !!!"

- "You could have stayed at the castle not following me"

- "No way!" Lidalia stated firmly making Mistia sigh.

- "Once we reach civilisation I'll buy you food so be patient"

After not even 10 minutes of walking, they heard people speaking. But unfortunately for them those people were bandies. Just as Mistia was about to signal "we sould leave" to her sister, the latter stepped on a branch earning the bandies' attention.

- "Look what we have here, 2 beautiful girls. Are you lost?" one smirked

- "No!" Lidalia glared at him and turned to leave taking her sister's hand. But one of the bandies grabbed her hand telling them to stay a little more.

Lidalia tried hitting them, she successfully landed some punches, but the difference in power was so great that it didn't have any effect... And in the end they were caught.

Some minutes passed like an eternity, and the bandies decided to eat first then enjoy themselves later. Both the sisters knew that it was their only chance to get away, but the rope was tied too tightly around their wrists. As they were thinking of a way to get away, they heard the bandies addressing someone.

- "Who the hell are you?" asked the one that looked like a leader

- "We're from the army and came from the royal palace. We're very troubled that you took away our properties without permission." answered a white haired boy

The bandies began laughing at them, making fun of them for being only 4 and claiming to be from the army. Lidalia really wanted to give those bandies a good lesson, but even she couldn't hold herself from mumbling a "what can you do with this difference in numbers?", which only Mistia heard.

- "They should take a nap inside those HIGH castle walls." continued the bandies

- "you love taking naps, right?" asked a green haired young man to the white haired boy

- "I do" he answered him, then turned to the bandies and smirked "unfortunately, we'll have to pass on that" and he unsheathed his sword.

The bandies had their attention on the expansive looking sword he had, and then they noticed that one of the 4 knights is a girl. As they began shouting happily, the said girl ignored them and the 2 boys glared at them. When they heard the bandies ask to leave the girl and go back, the white haired boy spoke, not able to hold back anymore.

- "shut up. I won't allow you to insult anyone here."

- "what? trying to act as if you're all good friends ?" laughed at him the bandies

- "it's not something as cheap as that. For me, with Mitsuhide and Kiki by my side, I can look ahead of me without loosing sight of where I'm at. Because there's someone I want to face, I won't become the kind of person she'll turn her back on." the white haired boy approached the bandies as he was speaking, the other 2 knight looking at him surprised.

- "w-what are you doing?" stuttered one of the bandies

- "Don't worry, that's not addressed to you people!" he answered as he cut a bottle with his sword, then he smiled "those are my words of gratitude"

- "oh really?" the bandies got ready and began fighting with him, and as soon the green haired one came to help him, "zen!" he called.

- "you're slow" he remarked

- "sorry, i got distracted while listening to you"

They fought for some time, the 2 boys and the girl fought like knights, while the fourth whom face was partially hidden fought like a ninja. After some time the bandies were loosing, so 2 of them decided to slip away with the girls without the others noticing. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for the 2 princesses, the ninja noticed (even if he didn't, Lidalia's scream of protest wouldn't be missed by anyone).

After the fight ended, all the bandies were tied, and the interrogation began.

- "Who are you?" asked the white haired boy

- "Who are YOU?!" answered Lidalia "Don't you know it's impolite to ask someone's name before telling your own?"

The boy laughed hearing her statement, while Mistia sighed at her sister's behaviour.

- "My name is Zen. This is Mitsuhide, and this is Kiki. The one over there is Obi." He introduced each one. The sisters looked at each one he pointed to while introducing; But for some reason, when her eyes locked with Obi's, Mistia blushed and looked away quickly.

- "Zen-" Mitsuhide began but zen cut him, gesturing that it was fine.

- "Now it's your turn." Zen stated looking at the sisters. Lidalia looked at her sister, asking if she should trust them or not, so the latter spoke in her place

- "Thank you for helping us. My name is Mistia and this is my sister Lidalia. For many reasons that i cannot tell you right now, we are travelling and in search of a new place to stay at."

Lidalia looked at her sister with wide eyes full of admiration. Zen understood the situation and, without batting an eye, invited them to stay with them at the fortress. Mitsuhide was against the idea at first but got persuaded by Zen. Mistia on the other hand was about to refuse but accepted since it seemed like the safest option at the time, and to let Lidalia rest a little.
