Amelia lay in her bed and waited. And waited. She heard nothing. The emergency tone stopped shortly after jade left, but Amelia still worried. After her mother had been missing for half an hour, Amelia decided she needed to have a look. Her nurse of course wouldn't let her, instead helping her into a wheelchair and taking her to the window. From her window she could see the hospital entrance, and from inside she could see flashes. To someone else, who wasn't military trained, it'd seem like a fire had started. To Amelia, she knew. It was gunfire.

When jade left the room, she ran to the nurses station. After being told by the nurse that the hospital was under threat, jade ran downstairs to administration. As she stepped out of the stairwell, a bullet flew past, narrowly missing her shoulder. As jade ducked back into cover, one of the hospital security guards was shot in front of her, falling dead into a pool of his own blood. Jade wasted no time picking up his pistol and taking whatever ammo she could reach without exposing herself. She checked the breach and stepped back out of cover. Instantly, she fired, downing two assailants, not taking the time to notice anything about them. A grenade was thrown from the end of the hallway, landing at jades feet. Jade kicked it away, and as it rolled back into the doorway it came from, it exploded, knocking out plaster panels and knocking jade off her feet from the shockwave. Jade, not able to move forward through the now blocked doorway, went the other way, into the front administration area of the hospital, entering with her gun raised. She dropped two more assailants before taking aim at a third and stopping. The third was holding a nurse hostage, gun against her head. It was now that jade took notice of the attackers. They were dressed in traditional Syrian clothing.

The attacker uttered something in a different language that jade didn't understand, but it was clear what he wanted. Lower your gun or I shoot. Jade dropped her aim, not totally losing her target, but shifting so he thought she'd dropped aim. He moved his gun from the hostages head to aim it at jade. A smile spread across his face, his finger tightening on the trigger. Jade moved like lightening, shooting the gun out of his hand, causing him to release the hostage, and then jade shot him through the knee as soon as the hostage was clear. The nurse scuttled off behind a desk, and jade continued, clearing the area. Once the police and British MPs arrived, jade assisted them with their work.

Amelia, seeing the flashes of fire, turned her wheelchair and started wheeling herself towards the door. The nurse who had helped her stopped her before she could get out.
"Your not going anywhere young lady, your still recovering." She chastised, and promptly wheeled Amelia back to the window.
'Bugger it.' Amelia thought as she watched on through the window, the flashes having now disappeared.

After some time, Amelia was put back in bed and She soon feel asleep, the drugs she was on taking effect. It was some time after Amelia had fallen asleep that jade came back, entering quietly so she didn't disturb Amelia. Jade sat quietly beside Amelia's bed, and watched her sleeping peacefully, despite the bandages all over her. Jade eventually nodded off herself, falling asleep in the chair.

Some days later, Amelia was recovering well and was up and about during the day, getting bored within the hospital. At night, she was having extreme night terrors, not being able to properly sleep. As a result, the defence force sent in a counsellor to talk with Amelia. When the counsellor arrived, Amelia was staring off through the window. She turned to face the door as it opened, and her eyes nearly fell out of her head. Abbey Buchanan had been her dads friend at school before he was sent away all those years ago. And now she was Amelia's counsellor.
"Hello Amelia. I'm sure you know me, your reaction says so. Do you remember me at all?" Abbey says to Amelia crisply, blue eyes cool as ever.
"I remember seeing you when we had barbecues and stuff at home, but I was only little." Amelia replies quietly, rather unsure of herself all of a sudden.
"That's right, after you were born I used to catch up with your mother and father quite often. I even babysat you on one occasion." Amelia frowns, trying to remember if this is true or not.
"Anyway, to provide just a little background on me, I enlisted in the army when you were about six, I'm a captain and a psychologist. I served through the twenty first centuries version of World War Two, and now I'm here, working in London as a part of the coalition forces. What brings you to London Amelia?" Abbey says as she pulls over a chair and sits, pulling out a notepad and pen.
Amelia speaks quietly, "I'm in London because I was shot." Amelia answers the question. It's not as if she lied or anything, that's the only reason she's here right now.
"Mmmmm, and how did you get shot? Were you apart of an operation or an attack?"
"I was capturing the town hall in Homs when we discovered that it was the main control post for the Isis forces in that sector. Their leader was the one who shot me."
"And what did you feel when you were shot?" Abbey asks, staring coolly into Amelia's eyes.
"What did I feel? I felt a fucking bullet go through me!" Amelia snaps
"What I mean is, what were your thoughts just after you were shot?" Abbey asks, trying and succeeding to diffuse Amelia's rage.
"I don't really remember because you know, I was focused on staying alive?" Amelia shoots back, before visibly loosening off.
"Look, I'll leave it there for today, but I'll come back tomorrow so we can talk more, ok?" Abbey says, standing and gathering her things.
"Yeah sure, not like I'm going anywhere fast in this place." Amelia says bluntly.
"You'll get there Amelia. I'll cya tomorrow." Abbey says before walking briskly out the door. Amelia just looks back out the window, staring off into space once more.
