Chapter 14

When we were at the mall I picked out a white silky dress that ends right below my knees.

Once we got home I went upstairs. I took a shower, then dried my hair. I curled into perfect curls. I then put on makeup. A little mascara and eyeliner. After all that I put on my white dress. It fit perfectly. I picked out red shoes to go with the dress.

I called Cameron to check if he was ready and he was. He said that he would meet me at the restaurant.

I went downstairs to find my mother talking to my brother and Madison.

Madison: Avery, happy birthday!

She then gave me a hug.

Luke: look I'm really sorry about hitting Cameron. I just don't want you to be ignoring me anymore I can't stand it.

Avery: I'll forgive until you apologize to Cameron.

Luke: okay I will.

I gave him a hug and he gave me a bag that was heavy. I opened the bag and there was a silver box inside. It was a Jewelry box. On the top of it it said "Go beyond the limits, beyond the moon, beyond the stars". It was absolutely beautiful.

Avery: oh my gosh Luke it's beautiful! Thank you.

I gave him a hug and put the box aside.We all got into my mom's car and headed to the restaurant.

**** Cameron's P.O.V. ****

After Avery called, asking if I was ready I started thinking. The necklace I got her wasn't enough. I called Nash to ask him.

Cameron: hey I need some ideas. I gave Avery a necklace but it wasn't enough.

Nash: well... do you really love her?

Cameron: of course.

Nash: do you want to spend the rest of your life with her?

Cameron: are you suggesting that I propose to her.

Nash: of course not get her a promise ring.

Cameron: you are the best friend in the world!

Nash: is it her birthday?

Cameron: yeah.

Nash: good luck

Cameron: thanks

I then quickly went to the store to pick out a promise ring. I found the perfect one. Then I left and made my way to the restaurant.

**** Avery's P.O.V. ****

When we got there I spotted Cameron at the entrance. He was holding pink roses which were beautiful. I ran up to him and hugged him then gave him a kiss. He hugged my mother then Madison then shook my brothers hand.

Luke: look, I'm really sorry about last time. I just got really mad. I hope we can put this behind us.

Cameron: yeah it's okay. You just wanted to protect her.

When we were done talking we went inside the restaurant. I sat down next to Cameron. Then he whispered to me...

Cameron: I have another surprise. Can you come over tonight?

Avery: yeah.

After chatting and eating dinner we all left. I went with Cameron to his house. Or that's what I thought. We ended up in front of a lake. We sat down at the bench. We talked then he got up and I got up. He pulled out a box and opened it. It was a ring.

Avery: uhh you know we are still in high school.

Cameron: it's not an engagement ring. It's a promise ring. I want to be with you forever. I love you and when we are older I hope that we can marry each other. But for right now take this ring so you know that one day we will get marry.

Avery: I love you so much Cameron.

He put on the ring and kissed me.

When we got to his house I pinned him against the wall and started to kiss him. But then something interrupted us.

Everybody: surprise!!

Then everybody jumped out of there hiding place. It was a surprise birthday party. Great!

Nash: uhh if you want we can leave.

Avery: no it's okay. Stay.

Nash: happy birthday.

Avery: thanks.

Then everybody came to me to say happy birthday.

This was not the way I wanted to spend this night. I wanted to be alone with Cameron.
