When people tell me I should let you go,

All I want to do is relive the things we did

With the memories I have and etch them

on the broken glass walls of you and me.

  To all the people out there that keeps everyone at an arm length wearing an unreadable mask so as to avoid confrontation, I'm so sorry you have to do this.

Know that your trauma and past don't define you, that you deserve better and I'm sorry you have to do this. 

Personally to all the people I've let go or pushed away, I could get down knees and say I'm sorry a thousand times but never get you to forgive me. 

I've said and done things I regret, just to get you to leave me because I was scared that if I got too close to you, I'd be shattered when you decide to leave me because of the demons I carry. 

But that can't be a good excuse for what I did to you, so I'm saying sorry for the thousandth time because no matter how long you're gone, I'll always regret hurting and letting you go.

I will forever cherish the memories I have with you and wish only the best to come your way. You deserve better, always have and always will. 

I know this won't change the way you look at me but still, I'm giving it one last shot. If you are reading this, I hope you know I'm so sorry for what I did to us I really am.
