Sweat dripped off my brow
Wind blew hair all around
As it cooled my hot skin
I control my breathing
By keeping it steady
I am focused and calm
Another runner runs on by
We nod and smile
As we keep going our separate paces
And our separate ways
Understanding in eachother's minds
We both know what each other is doing
No words are needed
Not even actions
Besides the pounding of feet on pavement
And loud, but controlled breathing
How far we go doesn't matter
All that matters
Is that we are not alone
In this world of running
