During an interview with Ryan Seacrest on May 25, Zayn explained that he wrote the track 'Let Me' "about a few months ago" when he had just broken up with Perrie! So is this song about Perrie?
"I was in love—and I think that's pretty evident. I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do. Things have become complicated now, but that's what I was thinking when I wrote it." Zayn explained at the radio program "On Air with Ryan Seacrest". So, it's clear that Perrie was his muse, and despite their breakup he kept the track. "We go through experiences so we can have memories and stories and things to write down and contemplate and think about. You get to really put your experience into something. Zayn's heart skipped a bit.
"It says you've been depressed because I have a boyfriend. It's ridiculous. We're best friends." Harry chuckled as he shook his head, "But they're cute with their wild thoughts."
Zayn swallowed the lump in his throat and let out a dry laugh. "Y-Yes. I-It's ridiculous."
"Ugh, it's late. I'm gonna go home and pack my suitcase." Harry said and got up from the couch.
