Killing Boredom (System)

World 1.3

Three weeks has pasted since Xi Ru has entered this world and she has accomplished a world goals: Have her brother wrapped around her fingers. She didn't need to pout, cry, or whine. If she wanted to do something or have something, all it took was a simple conversation over tea and cakes.

Xi Ru chuckles as she browses the world wide web. She was looking for restaurants that would fit the two tastes. She decided to treat herself and her brother for a meal after school.

While her brother was at school, she would implement her business assets and making calls. She also decided to stick her two cents and hand in the country's stock market. Hour by hour, she watched as hundreds of millions of dollars flowed into her like a rushing river stream.

Xi Ru bites her thumbnail before declining on the offer of swapping recently recieved stocks to the old shareholder from across the country. She was intending to milk this new cash cow till it could produce no more profit. That was business after all.

[Is this necessary host?], System asks.

"Well yes and no", Xi Ru answers as she prints out her acceptance letter.

[Should I even ask? You'll just do what you want anyways], System sighs.

"Glad to know you're getting used to me. I'm doing my job so there's no problem to have a some fun while doing it", Xi Ru says.

[I don't get enough energy for this..], System sighs.

"I'm sure you don't", Xi Ru says as she continues to work.

"Young Mistress, young master is home", The kind aunty announces from behind the door.

"Thank you auntie Yun! I'll be down in a bit", Xi Ru calls. She send an email with an attachment before puts her laptop to sleep.

Xi Ru walks to Chen Min.... and the second male lead, An Jiang. Xi Ru smiles and races into Chen Min's arms.

The two have their overdramatic reunion, completely ignoring the confused male lead.

'Did my rebirth trigger something different? Chen Miyun never came out to greet Chen Min until after Yu Wenna fixed their rift. This doesn't matter. She was the last in the Chen family to bless the relationship... I could use this to my advantage', An Jiang thinks with a satisfied nod.

Xi Ru looks at An Jiang past Chen Min's shoulder. The two schemers eyes meet for a brief moment and An Jiang waves. Xi Ru burying her face in Chen Min's chest in a flustered manner to hide her amusement at the expense of the young man.

Xi Ru pulls away from the hug. She coughs in her fist as if to gain some face back.

"Brother, is this a friend from school?", Xi Ru asks. Her tone was calm but anyone could feel the curiosity deeply inbedded.

Chen Min nods. "En. An Jiang, this is my sister Miyun. Miyun, this is An Jiang", Chen Min introduces.

Xi Ru smiles. "Nice to meet you brother Jiang!", Xi Ru says with a bright smile with interest in her eyes.

'TOO FAST! YOU JUST MET! DO NOT GET SWEPT UP BY HIS LOOKS!', Chen Min and system yell in rage to the depts of their hearts.

"Likewise! Chen Min didn't tell me he had a pretty sister", An Jiang charmingly says.

'Her isolation made her emotionally vulnerable. Look at her, infatuated at the first handsome brother she sees. She and her family are the ones who set her up for this blunder', An Jiang thinks with a bit of regret. He pushes it down though. It is his turn to be happy. God gave him this blessing and he will hold fast to it.

While An Jiang was in his inner monologue, Chen Min and system were burning streams of hellfire into him with their gazes.

"He came over to work on a project. We will be very busy so if you need help, ask Uncle Shu", Chen Min says gently, determined to bite this budding interest in the butt to prevent its progression.

After playing all those dating games with her, Chen Min had pretty much figured out his sister's type: handsome gentleman to gently love her and who accept her faults, the intelligent delinquent who but heads with her intellectually, suave handsome friend, or the flirty stranger who always makes you laugh. An Jiang was one of them. Chen Min felt his position as the only important man in her life was being threatened.

"Oh...", Xi Ru sighs dejected.

'I didn't mean it in a way that you were a burden! Brother isn't ready for you to date yet! Brother doesn't approve!', Chen Min cries in his heart.

"It's fine Chen Min. Chen Miyun can come if she need help. It's just the rough draft planning today so it would fine for her to stay or stop by", An Jiang says with a princely smile.

Xi Ru's face brightens but quickly looked at Chen Min as if asking for permission.

Chen Min begrudgingly nods and ruffles his sister's hair. Xi Ru sighs and lets him do what he wants. She learned in the three weeks of being there that there was no point in arguing with Chen Min's antics when she could just mess with him later.

The system was distressed. His host was a young woman who's only male companion was a brother figure. She felt no desire for men when she had work and Irine. But now that her job is now involves with dealing with people. Since host shows no specific preference for gender, this has doubled the system's worries. Not only for his host but for anyone who gets involves with host. System laminates in his heart before reminding the initial reason why she was there.

'Don't worry dear system, I haven't forgotten.. I'm just caught up in how alike we are. Well with the exception motivation. He's a schemer like me fufufufu! System, this is getting a little interesting. Let's hope he can give me a good fight', Xi Ru tells with a weird laugh.

System sighs in relief but continues to guard himself and Xi Ru. He had seen systems who abandoned work for being attracted by the enemy.

Xi Ru hands Chen Min her letter with triumphant puff of the chest.

Chen Min read through the document before slowly looking at Xi Ru whose smile was stretching bigger and bigger the longer he looked at her.

Chen Min grins back radiantly and the host system duo were blinded along with the An Jiang. Xi Ru receives a flurry of head rubs and coos of pride. Xi Ru pridefully accepts then shows An Jiang. What he saw left him quite awestruck.

Xi Ru's glowed brightly. She was only a first year but she was tied as first in school.

'That's right bitch! Take a long fucking look! We won't be sharing this throne for long. I'm going for your #1 student title first! You better put a up good fight. You're a schemer like me so please dont disappoint', Xi Ru thinks and laughs.

Chen Min ruffles Xi Ru's hair more vigorously and smiles proudly. Xi Ru puffs her chest in pride but can't help but feel her achievement be downplayed by the fact she's a heavenly level scholar.

End of Chapter 3

A/N: OH MY GOD! 3 UPDATES IN A WEEK?!
Okay, serious queen now. I originally wanted the system to be some kind of helpful younger relative figure to Xi Ru but in this chapter he seems more like a doting uncle figure. I don't regret it but my love for cute systems made my heart cry a thousand times when I was editing this for the final draft. Also I've noticed that Chen Min might be interperated as some kind of Sister Lover due to my friend, who  proofread this, saying he looked like Sister complex character. Which I also can't see myself regretting because he's like that for a reason. Also I love the concept of siblings being very close to each other. Not only is it cute, but I have younger siblings who i have a love/hate relationship with and I have no older siblings.
Also I promise my  Author's notes won't be this long.
(Lord, this just added like 395 words to the chapter (;^;))
