Oh there's the bell, better get to class. I head over to my locker, and grab my newly acquired math book, then Tiara comes running up to me yelling, "El! Thank god you're here!" meanwhile grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the storage closet next to the art room.
"What's so important can't we be early to class! For once!" I'm clearly desperate.
"Come on! Please? You have to see this!"

Okay, let's stop, this is Tiara, my best friend since Grace moved away. She tends to over exaggerate things, so don't expect this to be good. Alright, now that you know that, let's get back to the story.

"Fine...but this better be good."
"Oh trust me, it is!" she exclaims with a grin. She swings the door open and tugs me inside, then shuts the door.
"OK, so what, it's a stupid storage closet," I say, bored.
"Watch," she says, then she pulls a broom off a hook towards the back of the closet, the bookshelf next to it swings open.
"What the...how did you find this?" I say shocked.
"Well this kid was bullying me this morning about my glasses,"
I cut her off. "Wait someone was bullying you! Who are they?! Where are they?!"
"It's okay El really it's no big deal anyways," I cut her off again
"No! It is a big deal!" I exclaim very angry now.
"Really it's not now that I found this!"
"Whatever."
"Can I show you now?" she says.
"Fine okay! I'm still upset about the bullying though!"
"Okay so I came in here, crying, and then, walking in, I tripped over those," she says pointing at a stack of books near the door, "I fell and knocked the broom off its hook, which opened the bookcase," she says, satisfied with her story.
"So what's inside?" I say, beginning to calm down.
"Well I was hoping maybe you would look inside with me since you're so adventurous, so how about it?"
"Ummmmm..., I don't know about this."
"Please, El!"
"Alright, whatever I know you'll just poke and prod me all day if I don't. " We step inside, it is a small, practically empty room, except for an odd rectangular like shaped object covered by a tarp in the center of the room. I pull off the sheet, it's a mirror.
"Wow," I exclaim "that is a beautiful mirror!"
"Yeah...so what do you think it does?" Tiara asks, as if it has magical powers.
"What do you mean, 'What do you think it does?' It's just a mirror," I say to her in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.
"Well, it's in a secret room, in our school, in the storage closet, and covered by sheet...I don't think it was put in here for no reason, don't you?" Tiara asks.
"Well, I guess not," I say.
"So back to the main point, what do you think it does?"
"Probably nothing it's not like it could be magica-," I stop short in my sentence.
"What, what is it?" Tiara questions me.
"Didn't you see that?"
"See what?"
"The shimmer, in the mirror..."
"What are you talking about...Are you okay El, you're sweating," she asks, noticing my physical state. "Come on let's go, we're gonna be late." She says, not giving me time to answer the first question.
"You go on without me, I'll meet you in class in a minute," I say, slowly.
"Well ok, suit yourself, and by the way, if the door closes on you, pull the handle out and to the right, then the door will open."
"Ok thanks." She opens the door and walks out of the room.
