Zack's P.O.V

*Flashback*

"Quit being such a couch potato." Gretta said when she saw me sitting, watching TV.

I shrugged and kept watching.

She pushed my feet off the coffee table, I put them back up.

She rolled her eyes and sat next to me. It was 4 PM.

We ate and then went on a walk. 10 PM.

We watched some more TV. 11 PM.

Gretta's eyelids drooped, her head kept nodding as she fought to stay awake, eventually she gave up, falling over to use me as a pillow.

I ran my fingers through her hair while I continued to watch the show.

I began to feel tired as well, I stood from the couch while still supporting Gretta's head, then laid her down and draped a blanket over her shoulders.
"Goodnight Gretta." I planted a small kiss on her forehead. A blush ran across my cheeks.

Gretta was just waking up when I went into the living room.
"Sleep well?" I asked her. She nodded, still half asleep.

I cooked breakfast for us, then the doorbell rang, Gretta's parents were supposed to be picking her up today, but instead of her parents standing behind the door there was a police officer.

"Are you Gretta Vega?" He asked.

"I am." She said hesitantly.

I went to stand behind Gretta.

"I'm sorry, it's about your parents." Gretta breathed shallowly, she seemed fine, but I saw the way her hands shook.

"They got into an accident, presumably on the way here, they died on impact." Gretta nodded robotically and the officer gave a sympathetic smile before leaving.

"Gretta? Are you okay?" I asked her as the door shut.

"Yeah, just a little dizzy." She said airily.
I helped Gretta to the spare bedroom, she passed out as soon as she sat down.

I called Naomi, she said she would be there as fast as she could. When Naomi said she would be somewhere "as fast as she could" she was probably speeding, I told her to be careful.

Even though she had a key she usually knocked. This time. I didn't even hear her come in.

She came into the room and stood next to me.

When Gretta woke up she started to cry. Naomi crawled into the bed beside her and let Gretta cry into her shoulder as she stroked her hair.

I wasn't someone who had a lot of physical affection to give. I used kind words and reassuring glances rather than hugs and stuff.

Naomi helped Gretta up, we went to watch the sunset.

"I need to go somewhere." Gretta said, breaking the silence.

"Are you sure you want to be alone right now?" I said worriedly.

"I agree, we're fine to give you some privacy. But I'm a little skeptical about leaving you alone......" Naomi said twisting her hands anxiously.

"Don't worry about me. I'll call you if I need you okay?" She smiled reassuringly.

We hesitantly let her go.

As she walked away she whispered underneath her breath, "This is Gospel, for the fallen ones."

Her mom had told her this it was something worth listening to. I could almost hear a faint reply from someone, somewhere, "If you love me, let me go."
