(Last day of school for me tomorrow. Cant wait another minute! ~J)

The rain poured down on Sean McLoughlin as he walked home from high school. His parents had forgotten to pick him up after school. Or maybe they just didn't want to? So he had to trudge through mud for 3 miles to his house. The street was bare, little pieces of litter, twigs and leaves rolled with the wind. Jack watched his heavy, soggy shoes he slowly wandered home. The street lights gleamed down on Jack, but the rain dimmed the LED glow.

Jack opened his door and dropped his drenched backpack down and shut the door.  Jack's mom and dad were on the couch watching some type of television show, and his brother was upstairs working on another emo song. Jack walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple.

"Where have you been Sean?" His mom demanded

"Oh, you know, just walking home in the pouring rain, nothing much." Jack sassed back in reply, throwing the apple in the air and catching it repeatedly.

"Did you just sass your mother?" Jack's dad asked, anger booming in his voice.

"Maybe. What are you going to do about it." Jack replied taking a bite out of the apple. His dad turned off the television, making the room grow darker. Jack's dad stood up, and slowly walked over to Sean. His dad loomed over Jack as he looked in fear, knowing he messed up. his dad raised his hand and back handed Jack's face.

"To your room. Any more sass again, your getting no food for a week, do you understand me?" Sean's dad spoke, his voice in a low growl. Jack nodded, and ran upstairs into his room. He sat on his bed, not daring to turn on the lights. His brother was in the next room over, running his fingers over his electric guitar strings and making up lyrics on the spot. Sean covered his ears with his pillow, and the soothing voices of the outside rain made him fall asleep.

~Time Skip brought to you bye le rain~

Jack woke up to find himself in the same clothes as yesterday. His hair was a tangled mess, his clothes all wrinkled up on his body. Sean rolled out of bed and wandered over to the bathroom. He turned on the florescent white lights and observed the under-eye-circles that were is most noticeable feature  on his face, besides the bright red mark his father gave him. He looked at his old watch that was tight around his wrist. It read 5:45. Sean looked at himself in the mirror, and rubbed his face. He decided to take a morning shower to try to wake himself up. He turned on the warm water, stripped down, and stepped into the little water droplets. He stood with his back under the shower head, letting the water give him a back massage. He then washed himself, got out, and dried off. He stood with a towel around his waist. He was still tired.

Sean felt empty as he stared at his reflection. His eyes were bare, and his face was bony- along with his body. He felt hungry 24/7 and felt sick everyday. He usually cried himself to sleep. He lived like this for nearly two decades now. And something needed to change.

He needed a new home.
