A thunderstorm wasn't something that Serena had thought she would have to face as she rode her bike through the streets. She breathed heavily trying to get out of the rain as soon as possible then she found an alleyway that wasn't too far from the psychic shop.
Serena quickly got off her bike and leaned it against the wall beside a dumpster. This should be a good spot for it. She thought before hearing the thunder rumble through the buildings like a bowling ball smacking into the pins. The lightning lit the alleyway like a helicopter searchlight making Serena the center of attention if anyone was even paying attention at all.
She finally caught her breath when she noticed a familiar man with a white shirt walk pass the alleyway. She just had to know if it was him. Her feet were moving quickly and when she turned the corner she slipped and fell onto her butt.
"Ow! That wasn't supposed to happen!" She groaned inwardly not noticing that the man she was in pursuit of had turned around to find her on the ground.
"Serena, are you okay?" Tim's voice rang with concern and not so easily contained laughter.
Serena looked up at Tim who was offering his hand to help her up and took it. "I thought you got mad and just went home." She said as he helped her to her feet.
"Well, don't you think I have every reason to be mad?" He asked as he looked down at her. "I mean she basically, lead me on and used me."
Serena sighed, "I know and I'm sorry about that, but what am I supposed to do about it I can't fix her." She let go of his hand and heard thunder crash through the buildings again before feeling little droplets of water falling on her head. "Where were you going anyways?" She asked because from what she noticed moments before he seemed to be in a hurry.
"I was actually going to see if she had work today since she told me she works at the bookstore," Tim answered looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
If it were possible Serena's eyes nearly bulged out of her head, "No!" She shouted just as thunder crashed making her shout dramatic. She watched his face go from curious to confused in a matter of seconds.
"What do you mean no?" Tim asked as he looked at her and tried to make sense of the situation. So far his luck was zero to none.
"I can explain." Serena started.
"This is going to be interesting." Violet's voice came from the right of Serena.
Can things get any worse? Serena thought as she rolled her eyes at Violet who was doing the Egyptian dance between Serena and Tim.
"Well, if you're going to be like that I don't think I want to know the reason," Tim said in response to seeing her roll her eyes.
"I wasn't rolling my eyes at you. I was rolling them at Violet." Serena replied gesturing that her best friend was between them. Violet stopped dancing and backed away wanting to see what would happen next.
Tim looked around in an attempt to see where Violet could be hidden. Yet again no such luck the roads and the sidewalk were desolate. "I don't see her anywhere."
"Okay, now it's time to be blunt." Serena finally decided. "She's DEAD! Okay! DECEASED! She's an annoying ghost! How a man like you was able to put up with her I really don't know. But there. Now you know."
Tim looked at Serena in awe and did not know what to say. His eyes met hers and he could see that there was something in them. He could see that she was about to cry and he knew instead of walking off that he was going to be the good man he always has been and be there for her.
"That explains a lot." He said.
Serena didn't say anything else because she could see what was going on in front of her.
Violet's face lit up like a spotlight was beating down on her. Serena could tell that though she yelled the truth to Tim it still brought the light to her best friend. "Thank you, Serena. I'll be watching over you. Take care of Princess and Tim for me." Violet waved goodbye and walked through the light.
Now that Violet was at peace Serena burst into tears. She felt as if she watched her best friend die for good.
"I'm guessing she went into the light?" Tim asked as he pulled Serena into a hug.
Serena nodded crying a little bit harder until she realized what he had said. "And how would you know about the light?"She asked as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
"That's for me to know and you to find out," Tim said with a chuckle that told Serena that it wasn't going to be an easy task to get him to answer.
"Okay, I'll give you that but just know I will find out your secret." She approached him and poked him in the center of his chest. "I'm not going to give up either." She added narrowing her eyes up at him.
"You know what I think," He looked down at her. "I think that it's so cute that you think you will figure me out."
