CHRIS
I had went to the bathroom for about fifteen minutes to go clean up real quick. But when I came out Unique was tossing and turning, breathing heavy, and she was sweating a little. She looked a little upset so I decided to wake her. I went over and shook her gently and said her name in a sing-songy way with a small smile. She wasn't getting up. I shook her harder and this time called her name with way more concern than the first time. She jumped up into sitting position, she was shaking real bad and breathing fast. Her hand was on my lower arm and she was squeezing with all her might. Then her breathing slowed down and as she attempted to begin to explain her dream she just began sobbing and fell into my chest and all I could do was hold her in tight to comfort her.
" What's wrong with me? " she sobbed.
" Nothing is wrong with you. "
" Yes there is. I-I haven't called my mom in about a month and she's dying. I've gone against everything I was taught. I need help. " she began beat my chest and then slumped down into me. " I need help. " she repeated in a whisper. " I need help. "
" And that's what I'm here for. "
She didn't say anything back. All she did was walk into the bathroom and shut the door in my face.
" Unique come back! I could help you. " I got no reply.
" Unique! "
I soon heard shower water running
UNIQUE
I hopped in the shower. I was not about to open up to this journalist just for him to hop right outta my life like most people have. No, that's not how it works.
Before I knew it I was downstairs cooking breakfast for me, myself, and I. I got a ring at the door. I walked to the door and opened it. My eyes were huge.
" Dad? " I whispered.
" Hello babygirl. "
" No I'm not your babygirl. You left us. Just as things got tough you were out. You didn't love us enough to work with us while we were going through shit. Nahhh bruh you not my daddy. You took the easy way out. " I was furious. " You are dismissed. You can leave. " He just stood there. " I'm pretty sure you heard me motherfucker. LEAVE! "
He left my house and I ain't want him to ever come back. Just cause I'm getting money now he thinks he can claim me as his daughter now and just appear back into my life. Nahh bruh you was wrong like fuck. My phone began to ring pillsNpotions by Nicki Minaj. I looked over and it was Trent.
" Hello. " my tone was fearful.
" Hey! What happened last night? "
" Umm about that we won't be doing that no more. "
" Why? "
" Because it's wrong and I don't feel right doing it now don't call me back. " and with that I hung up and just incase he tried calling me back I blocked his number.
Chris came downstairs and just stared at me. What was he looking at?
" You gotta eye problem nigga. Why you looking like that? " I snapped.
" My bad, I was just admiring you. "
" Yeah, nahhh don't. That's some stalker shit right there. "
" Okay fine. But forreal Unique, when you gon let me help you out. I see you hurting and I don't wanna hurt you even more, I just wanna be there for you. I've been there before and I wish I had someone to be there for me. "
" Look, I've been told that a million times and I'm tired of believing it and being played. How I know you ain't like the rest? "
He walked towards me and looked deeply into my eyes. I began to put my head down and he quickly picked it up and said. " Look at me Unique, I'm not like everyone else. I don't have any intention to hurt you. I see your heart, I see how broken you are. I'm just trynna fix it as much as I can. " I began to tear up again, damn this music industry is making me soft as hell.
" I-I don't know. " I whispered. He gave me a soft kiss on the forehead.
" Please. "
" I-I can't "
" Why not. "
" Because I have trust issues. " I yelled throwing my arms up. " Every time I let someone in my life all they do is walk right out. Every time I give some one my trust they break it. Every time I give someone my heart...." I paused. Then I whispered " They hurt it. I can't trust nobody. My heart won't let me. "
" Then let me teach you. " I was silent. He pulled me in by my waist. " Please. " his eyes pleaded for my answer.
All I did was nod my voice had left the building I no longer had it. Even though I was scared about getting hurt again, I felt kind of warm inside and that maybe I should trust him he seemed sincere. Nahh he's just like every other nigga. As I continued eating my breakfast I could feel a big goofy smile smile plastered on my face. Maybe I was starting to like him a little bit. Damn, this celebrity thing was making me crazy. I swear.
After I ate I did something I hadn't done in a long time. I called my mom. It felt so good to hear her voice again. I talked to my little brother in his little baby language which is too cute. Then I talked to Margarita. She told me everything the doctor said and how my mom is doing much better which put a huge smile on my face. A real one might I add. I am beginning to like my life again. It's starting to look a lot better for me.
