Chapter One

Friday Night
At Chris Wilson's parties, there were always four kinds of people. The wasted epitome of embarrassment, the make or break couples, the mysterious and unapproachable, and of course, Lexus Odell.

Lexus always came to the parties Chris hosted - not because she wanted to dance drunkenly on the table, make statements about her love life - or lack thereof - and she definitely did not smoke david offs in a corner.

No, Lexus would come simply because Chris would ask her to. Chris had a kaleidoscope of hazel in his crinkled eyes that twinkled when he smiled at her. She would often mix hues of browns and greens in her colour palette to get the shade just right.

Her reason to come to this particular party was no exception. However, it was the night her luck cashed in.

On an adrenaline rush, in a spontaneous spur of the moment act, she sat down for a game of spin the bottle. When her friend Ellie begged her to come with, she complied in hopes Chris would be there too.

Lexus had been dipping her feet in the outdoor pool, cold water numbed her toes as she sat there alone drinking canned beer and sighing at each couple displaying some form of PDA. She was torn between feeling disgusted and jealous. Being single wasn't such a bad thing, but the thought of being with someone felt nice. She craved that level of intimation and could only ever dream of a perfect romance. The thought made her sigh.

That was when Ellie approached her and somehow managed to persuade her into participating

"You're coming with me." Ellie crossed her arms and spoke down to her, like a child being scolded.

Lexus, poured the remaining of her drinks contents in the suspicious looking red cup sitting on her side.

"Where are we going?"

She shook the cup to mix the two drinks and chucked them both down. She was an embarrassment. Ellie shouldn't even be seen with a loser such as herself. A lonely, single loser at that.

"To play spin the bottle of course!"

She snorted. "I prefer keeping my lipstick on. It's a nice shade of leave me alone."

To this, her friend groaned in response. "That didn't even make sense. Please get up."

"No."

"Why?"

"I don't want to play that game." She chucked the empty cup in the pool, almost wishing it would distract the couple sucking each other's faces off. Gross.
