Hideout

As we walked on, I filled Tracy in on the details of the previous day. She didn't seem surprised that I hadn't told her. "What's your name?", we asked the  strange lady. "Sienna" she relied.
"So, umm, Sienna, do you mind telling us where we're going?" I stammered.
"Yes, I mind". Well that was rude of her.
"But I will tell you some other things you need to know" we waited anxiously to hear what she had to tell us and we soaked in everything she said. "The world is not what you perceive it to be. If you have seen anything weird or paranormal-ish and people have never believed you when you told them, this is why. Every other human lives in this world, but you live in two. You have two lives but you are only living one of them. Today, I will introduce you to your other life. It may complicate things but it's worth the thrill."
We turned into an alleyway. "You posses powers, like the rest of us but you must learn how to use them, embrace them and understand them." Tracy, completely mesmerised, finally snapped back. "Wait. Hold on a second. There are more of us? What kind of powers? Are there evil villains for us to battle with?" Her eyes lit up with childish wonder. "Well, there are no evil villains......well, not anymore. We used to have a counterpart until they disappeared. They have not been seen since the past 15 years. Some say, they went into hiding. We really don't know."
"Again with the 'we'. Can you at least tell us what we are?" I said, rolling my eyes.
"We are the Allagen. It means change. We can cause the state of natural being of something to change."
" So you basically can alter reality?"
"Not quite. It's a little more complicated than that. But you'll receive proper training and sorting soon. Now no more questions. We're almost there."
I had been in such deep thought that I didn't even notice where we were going. We had now reached an open ground. There was nobody to be seen now. And it was pitch dark, there being a lack of street lights.
Sienna stretched out her arm and the flame red mist curled from her fingers. At first, there was nothing. Then, when she stroked her hand in front of her. There was a ripple in the air. Like a reflection of our world. She walked straight through it and beckoned for us to follow. So we did.
"We have travelled through a Veil. Its like a veil that separates our world from yours. Our worlds are linked to each other. Forever attached. Some say that this is just one dimension- ours and yours together-, that there are many dimensions, hidden from us. But nobody knows for sure. "
She turned to face us. I could see the fire in her eyes, like she was a born warrior. "Prove yourself worthy and you will survive."
She bent down over a random patch of ground and placed her hand in the grass. The place had a certain odd feeling to it. Like I was drawn to it. I glanced over at Tracy who weirdly hadn't said anything for a while. She was clearly in awe. She looked back at me for reassurence and took my hand.
The patch of ground opened up like a trap door and Sienna proceeded to decend  down a ladder. We followed. And we reached a small hideout. It looked comfy. But it was neatly laid out and well stocked with weapons. It was clearly where Sienna lived.
Tracy asked, "Are we going to stay here? "
         "yes."
"why? Why aren't we going to the place of Allagens?"
I was surprised that Tracy remembered the name. She usually wouldn't bother to. Sienna replied, "Because, it's late. And the gates won't open till dawn anyway."
So we settled down to stay at Sienna's place.
As I stared out the window, I couldn't help but feel that this would probably be the last night that I had a good night's sleep.
