Chapter 3
I bit my lip and refused to look at him, which out the corner of my eye I could see him with hope in his eyes. “I don’t know, I haven’t thought about it yet. Plus Saturday is ages away.” That was the best thing I could think of. “You do know its Thursday Indie,” Loki said blankly. Goddammit Indie, you’re not thinking straight. “Still... It’s like two days away, anything could happen...” I mumbled quietly. “Come on. You’ll enjoy it. Please. Please come for me” he sounded so pleading and I felt bad. “Mm okay, okay, I guess, I’ll come.” I trailed off. “Great. I’ll pick you up at eight or so.” He smiled and kissed my forehead. I smiled weakly and then sat up and packed my books and pencils into my bag. Beside me, Loki got up and waited until I had packed everything away and helped me get up. We walked back to the school building which contained our lockers and as we got to the door we went our separate ways to our lockers. I pulled my phone out and was texting Matt that I was ready to be picked up. I was texting him when I walked straight into someone dropping my phone. “Shit” I whispered as I crouched down to pick up my phone. “Whoa, sorry, I, uh didn’t see you there,” a voice said. I picked my phone and luckily, it hadn’t smashed. “No no, it’s fine, I wasn’t watching where I was going..” I said slowly as I stood up to face whoever I had run into. I stared at him. The boy I just ran into. His eyes..His eyes were to die to for. I misty grey colour and his dark brown hair matched them. “I am sorry, is your phone smashed?” he asked as he put one hand behind his head? “Nope, its fine” I smiled. “Great… I’m Finn by the way. I just moved here.” He put his hand out to shake mine. “Indie,” I said as I shook his hand. He is perfect. His jaw outline, just everything. We pulled away and as I went to speak my phone buzzed and showed I had a message from Matt. “Oh sorry, I gotta go. Nice meeting you though Finn.” “Nah, no problem. Sorry again and see you around?” He asked. I nodded and then I continued walking to my locker. Well that was interesting. Since when did we have a new kid? I asked myself while I started to pick books from my locker. I turned around to see Finn walking back with some of Loki’s friends. Oh, he’s with Kai and Mitch. They will ruin him. I thought to myself. I rolled my eyes, shut my locker and headed out to Matt who was sitting in the blue falcon ford in the car park waiting for me. “Hey Matt” I said as I opened the door. “Hey, took your time.” He smirked. I laughed and turned the radio on. All the way home I kept switching the radio station. Enough times Matt started to smack my hand away every time I went to change it. “Stop. Just pick and stay on a station you like” Matt said hitting my hand away. “There are no good songs on. Come on!” I tried to change it again but he hit my hand away. I death starred him in return. It’s not like I’m going to break it.
We pulled up in the drive way and we both hoped out and went inside. I went down the hallway straight to my room and changed. I chucked on a pair of trackies and a singlet. I then walked out in the kitchen to see mum cooking tea. “Hey mother bear” I said jokingly as I search the pantry for food. Scanning the shelves, mum rolled her eyes. “Hey Hun, don’t eat too much. Tea will be ready soon. Should be ready in half an hour dear.” “Uggghh.” I groaned. “I can’t wait that long.” I shut the pantry doors and walked over to the oven to see what was cooking. “I’m making chicken noodle soup.” Mum said as she stirred the soup. “Smells good” I said. Mum smiled and then went out of the chicken into the lounge room. I decided to go into my room and continue my oak tree drawing I had started earlier today. Hours passed and I had eaten dinner and was almost finished with my drawing. I pretty much stayed in my room for the whole night expect for eating tea with the family. As I was tidying my art up, my phone started calling and it was Emily. “Hey, what’s up Em?” I asked while flopping onto my bed with my phone in my ear. “You! You never told me you were going to Luke’s party on Saturday and with Loki!” she squealed into the phone, oh dear, I forgot to tell her. “I only decided in the last lesson Em, I was going to tell you” I laughed. “Well, since you are, we now are going shopping early Saturday Morning.” “Eh, fine okay. But not early.” I argued. “How about eleven? Then we’ll go back to yours and get ready?” She asked. “Yeah. Should be fine. Did you want Loki to give you a ride?” I could tell she was thinking this over in her head. “Yes, yes that should work. Are you excited? You haven’t been to a party in ages In.” she said softly. I didn’t answer straight away. “I guess…” I said slowly. “I just do not want the same thing to happen as last time. I just have this feeling that he might.” “Things will be different; I’ll be there and won’t be left without someone. You’ll have me.” I smiled, knowing she would be there. “Okay, I guess I can relax a bit now.” “Good, now get some rest. We have a big day on Saturday, so you’ll need all the sleep you can get,” she giggled. “Night Em, have a good night,” I said. “Night Indie, sleep well. Love you!” “Love you too!” and with that, we both hung up. I smiled to myself and finished tidying up and then went to bed. I couldn’t sleep though. I kept thinking about the night Loki left me. He was drunk and left me. I knew no one. I was so scared, I was alone, what if he does it again?. We were somewhere and the city. I kept replaying the part of seeing him leave in my head. I had to admit, I was nervous about this weekend.
