The Chatty Warlock

Phoenix led the way down the road where he said he lived.  Well, she really wouldn't call it a road, since they were waking in the forest beside the road.  Katty followed close behind, and was just barely keeping her panic on the inside.  What was keeping her together was how beautiful Phoenix's wings were.  They were a fiery red orange, as was his pelt, and they sparkled in the sunlight.  She knew she was falling for this silly arrogant cat, but she couldn't help it.  He was handsome, and nice to offer to help her.  She walked down the path, and was so immersed in her thoughts, that she bumped into Phoenix when he abruptly stopped.

"What, why did you stop?" She asked, and was "rewarded" with his tail flicking over her mouth, silencing her.

"Be very quiet!" He hissed at her, although, he wasn't that quiet either.

"Why?" She asked, making sure that her voice was so very quiet.

"There is a warlock in front of us!" He meowed quietly.

"Why is that a bad thing?" Katty asked.

"Because, this particular warlock will never let you go!  He will talk to you for hours upon end, and when you try to leave, he will keep right on talking, and he will use his powers to make you stay and talk!" He whispered quietly.

Katty suppressed a mrow of laughter.  Phoenix was scared of a chatty warlock?  Please!

Maybe he can help me get home! Katty thought.

"I think I will go talk to him." Meowed Katty, and pranced out of the foliage.

"No!" Snarled Phoenix, and tried to stop Katty by extending his paw to grab her tail, but he only ended up falling into plain sight as well.

"Well hello my pretty kitties!  I need to pull my translator out to understand you!" The warlock said, and pulled out a strange looking device from his robe.

Katty's eyes bugged out at the sight of him.  Normal warlocks were enough to take in with their glittery makeup, and their strange clothing style and hairdos, but he was unbelievable.  His robe was a bright purple, and it was covered with little specks of light that flashed on and off, on and off, over and over, until Katty got dizzy enough to fall over.  His hair was at least three feet tall, and glistening with hair gel, and his face!  It looked as though a bird had splattered itself all over his face!  It was colorful with feathers poking out of his nostrils.  Katty could say the least strange thing about him was his translator device.

"Well, speak now kitties!" He said.

Katty looked over at Phoenix, who was shaking his head frantically, as if saying 'No!  Don't!', and Katty did anyway.

"Excuse me, but I need to get home, and I don't know the way.  I live in Refdes, and we are here in Perfad." Meowed Katty.

"Oh, well, I think I can help you with that, um later." The warlock said with a smile.

"Oh thank you!  So, how do I get home?" Katty exclaimed.

"Oh, well, I haven't had someone to talk to in so long, that I will just have to make do with some kitties.  So, this one time I ran away from a cat that looked just like you friend over there, ya know, he looks exactly like him!  Why did you scratch me, why did you hiss at me?" He accused.

"Run!" Phoenix meowed quickly.

"Wait, I can't!  He can help me get home!" Katty meowed urgently.

"No, you are coming with me!" Phoenix hissed.

"Shall we go to my house?  I think I could discipline that cat friend of yours!  I know I have a potion that would make him so nice, and i could take out his claws, and his teeth, and anything dangerous for that matter.  Did you know that the cat has night vision, and that the cat has many different tail postures?  Wait, where are you going!  Come back kitties!  My powers don't work in the air, drat!" The warlock said.

They could still here him talking, even up in the air.

"Okay, I agree.  I should find help somewhere else." Katty meowed, and thunder rolled ominously in the distance.
