Katty flew away with Phoenix leading the way. She stopped when they had gained the altitude of about 200 ft.
"Hey! Phoenix! Are you ever going to stop running? You can't fly into the sunset ya know!" Katty meowed.
"Well, if you insist, I will stop flying." mrowed Phoenix, and his wings went limp.
Katty rolled her eyes as Phoenix plummeted towards the ground. He was such a drama queen. He pulled in from his plummeting at about 100 ft, and flew back up to her.
"We should probably go to my home so we aren't caught out here at night. I don't know if you have them where you live, but Tranweas like to eat us winged cats."
"Tranweas? What are Tranweas?" asked Katty.
"A Tranwea is a creature that is more like an animal hybrid. It's a mix between a wolf and a snake."
"Oh. Well, let's go." Katty meowed, and followed Phoenix once more.
They went into the forest, and flew in and out of the trees. They stopped before a large oak tree, and flapped his wings slightly, back winging to land on a small branch. Katty did the same, and cringed slightly when the branch swayed under their weight.
"Okay, don't get overwhelmed." Phoenix meowed, and leapt into thin air.
Katty stared in disbelief. Phoenix had disappeared! She remembered his warning not to get overwhelmed, and leapt after him. Instead of flailing through the air like she thought she would, her paws hit a solid floor. She looked around and gasped. Her eyes were met with the beautiful sight of gemstones. There were so many gems, and other collected items, but what really caught her attention was how the gems kept appearing, not just part of a collection. All sorts of colors, but the colors that appeared the most were the colors of Phoenix's pelt. She could stay there forever. Then, she decided, forever more, she could not leave.
"Phoenix, this is beautiful!" Katty gasped, looking around in wonder.
"I told you not to get overwhelmed." he grumbled, but Katty could see the pride in his eyes after her reaction to his home.
Katty purred, and bumped her nose against his shoulder. He looked at her in surprise, and said,
“Katty, what are you doing? We only just met!”
“But you are so beautiful!” she meowed, walking closer to him, and rubbing her head along his neck.
“I’m flattered, but, Katty, you can’t stay here! Don’t you have to get home?” he asked.
“I know, but Krisha will just get another pet! She’s a good girl, and she knows I know how to survive.” Katty purred.
“But how can you be sure your owner won’t miss you...maybe it’s good that you got lost. Then she wouldn’t have a chance to abandon you.” Phoenix said.
“Whatever do you mean? Krisha would never abandon me!” Katty gasped, appalled that Phoenix would suggest such a thing.
“Because my owner abandoned me!” he burst out.
“Oh...I’m so sorry!” Katty mewed.
“It’s whatever.” grumbled Phoenix.
They fell into an awkward silence, before Phoenix broke it by saying, “Hey, do you want anything to eat?”
“Yes please, I’m starving!” Katty meowed.
“Well, I have tuna, creme, Sew nuts, and water.”
“Oh, could I have some Sew nuts please?” asked Katty.
Sew nuts were nuts from the far side of the world, and grew on the magical Sew tree. They tasted like chocolate, but didn’t have any of the harmful chemicals that would harm a cat.
“Anything else?” purred Phoenix.
“Tuna?”
“Sure.”
Phoenix got her these things, and she began to eat. When she had a full belly, she curled up in the middle of the floor, and didn’t notice when Phoenix curled up next to her.
