<Mharvin's POV>

It's crazy knowing that Xander died.

It's unbearable but, alas, we have to move on.

Everyone has to wake up form this nightmare

And move on.

I have to do something about this.

It’s been like a month since Xander‘s funeral.

And everyone is a wreck.

Kierra is a mess, Ashley isn’t being a bitch (which is totally not her), and Eliza is not talking along with everyone else. Like I said, a wreck.

I have to be the brave one here and help everyone.

And alas, the camping trip is a day away.

Summer had begun and everyone was in low spirits, so I texted them all to meet in the mall. Everyone agreed.

This must be because everyone wants to grieve with their friends, especially Kierra.

When everyone arrived, no one spoke. The only signs of recognition were a nod and a hug. So to make things moving I took the initiative to lead them to the entrance.

As the group reaches the entrance, Eliza turn her face towards us and with a small smile and said, ”Let’s go.” Everyone nods. In a uniform motion we head to the mall.

As we entered, Kierra started crying.

“I can’t take it anymore!! Xander…. why!? Why did you have to die?!” She screams and cries louder. Everyone else tries to control her cries by comforting her but its seemed that it is only making everyone cry too.

I myself try to control the tears, but it seems they have somehow found its way out. With a courageous effort, I tell everyone to snap out of it.

“Guys we have to stop this! Bull crap!” I snap.

They all make a strangled noise. With an effort Kierra curses and says.

“What the hell! Are you saying that we should just forget about Xander, my boyfriend?! The person who made me feel alive? To just forget him and go?! She snaps.

“I didn’t mean that! Xander was our friend! He was my bro too. And everyone here feels the same way too, right?!” I say with a sniffle.

No one answers. It was dead silent. Only the sound of the crowd walking and talking could be heard.

“He’s right.” Eliza sighed. “It’s hard to admit guys, but he is right.”

“We have to move on from his death at the very least and do something good with our lives and to live his memories among us.” I add.

Kierra quietly says,”Okay” while wiping her tears.

“You’re right. For Xander!” One of my friends said.

‘For Xander!”  In unison we all smiled and made an entrance towards the food court. We started finally started feeling ourselves getting better our happiness was back at least a little bit.

As we entered the food court we actually started talking through the court and everyone slowly felt better.

Ashley started arguing childishly with Brittany regarding another pointless issue. Eliza and Kierra were laughing at each other and joking about how Joanie placed chopsticks in his nose. And I myself started to feel better. With that I asked one last thing.

“Guys? Is the camping trip still on?”

Everyone stopped for a moment and all eyes looked at Kierra who with a confident smile said, “Yes, the camping trip is still on!! For Xander!” She raised her glass for a toast and everyone followed after.

Famished with food, we decided to walk around more until we arrived at a weird store called ‘Mystical Fortune Telling’.

As we head to the stall, a small chill went down my spine. Something is wrong. I can feel it. It’s like we shouldn’t be going here. But, I can’t ruin this now that we are already getting better, so I ignore the feeling and head for the stall.,

“Hello there, and welcome to Mystical Fortune Telling.” A young woman smiles and waves. In the stall there were sets of charms, a crystal ball and cards which must be fortune telling cards. “Hello! Miss” We said in unison with a smile.

“Please call me Pasody!” She says with such enthusiasm that the strange feeling almost disappeared. Almost.

“So how do we do this?” Kierra asks.

“You just put your hand on the ball and I give the reading.” She said holding the crystal ball gently.

“Could we have it as a group??” She asks.

“Sure if everyone agrees.” she replies.

Everyone nodded.

So the old woman began fixing the ball and she asked, “Okay, tell me. Are going to a camping trip tomorrow?” She asked.

“How did…?” Kierra trails off.

Everyone hushed.. Nobody said anything, but I knew that it freaked us all out.

The camping trip wasn’t talked about when we went to the stall but how did she know? I ask myself.

“Yes.” said Kierra.

“Okay. Everyone place your hand on the crystal ball.” She said while gesturing to the magical ball.

As everyone, started placing their hands on the crystal ball, the lady began talking.

“One of you shall die on her birthday “She said.

Suddenly everyone removed their hand on the ball. They all freaked out. Another death and it was someone we knew and suddenly Kierra froze. And we all knew.

Kierra. It’s her. Her birthday lands on the day of the camping trip. I thought.

Then with an angry voice, I say, “Screw you! Let’s go guys.” And led them away from the stall of that stupid woman.

“Hey guys listen to me it’s not true she can’t tell the future!” I tell them.

“Yeah, only Houdini can predict the future.” Brittany says.

“Idiot! Houdini is a magician!” Ashley says.

“I’m sorry! Maybe Gandhi?”  She smiles.

Then everyone laughs except for Ashley, who face palmed over Brittany’s stupidity. Brittany frowned.

So the camping trip is on, and like I said we are happy again.

But then I see a shadow figure zoom past us. Nobody notices except for me.

Maybe it was all in my head but it looks though it was…Xander.

Xander without his head
