'Yeowool, you're drunk', Sun Woo tried to snatch the bottle of expensive alcohol from Yeowools hand.
'I know', a terrible hoarse voice escaped from Yeowools mouth. It was one of the few times he was able to talk.
'I guess you didn't like the speed dating programme Jinheung arranged for you.' Sun Woo stared at the paper the prince had to write on. It had names with candidates on it, men and women. The only thing Yeowool had to do was to grade them.
It was a long list filled with negative reactions.
"Self centered"
"Gold digger"
"Sexual"
"Uninteresting"
"Does not understand me"
"Not Hansung."Jinheung tried fixing Yeowools problems like that, but there wasn't any positive outcome.
'I'll tell him not to do this anymore. He can use you for something better.'
The king disliked Yeowool even more. To him, Yeowool had become a coward or a whole disgrace to the sacred bones. All he did was mourn. In the hopes of curing the prince's sadness Jinheung sent out people, from normal civilians to prostitutes, to make Yeowool feel better. Nothing worked.
After Dan Se was killed, Jinheung really tried his best to get Yeowool out of the whole picture.
'I'll just die', the prince put his half empty glass down and stared at his right hand. Jinheung himself cut one finger off as a sign of him breaking a promise with Hansung. It left him with an ugly wound wrapped in a cloth.
'You can't die, you still have a whole life-'
'Hansung also had one life.'
'Yeowool you can't keep going back on this.'
'Then why is the king blaming every thing on-...' The prince's mouth moved but soon there was no voice coming out of it.
'Sit back down, your throat can't handle it.' Sun Woo poured in some tea and sat down on the bench next to him.
Yeowools voice had been disappearing and appearing the whole time. Most of the time, he only said just a couple words before becoming mute once again. It was terrible, since every time he wanted to scream or cry he had to do it in silence. But every time he was able to speak, he didn't know what to say.
He was useless and pushed to the side. Until war happened. Baekje's king was once again, furious. He already hated Silla from the bottom of his heart, but after hearing that the faceless king was someone else he couldn't stand things. He sent out a small army of spies to kill the king.
The hwarang house was alerted immediately after the guards around the capital noticed something unusual.
Once again, Sun Woo entered Yeowools room.
'Do you want to go outside and join us?'
The prince shrugged and got up. Joining a dangerous mission gave him a bigger chance to die. But he didn't get a chance to die. He immediately saw Jinheung on his horse, his judging eyes met the prince.
'What would Hansung think of you?', the king mouthed.
He's heard him saying this too often. 'Whatever', Yeowool thought, pulling his sword out of his cover. He waited for the fire signal. He didn't want to think about how much Hansung must've hated him after all this time.
If he dies, he will face him and get punished.
If he lives, he will be safe.
Safe from what? Yeowools life already was miserable. He wouldn't mind death- until he thought of Dan Se's face when he died. How life disappeared from his eyes.
A loud bang snapped him out of his thoughts. Hwarangs soon ran towards the target. Yeowool did the same. For once he let his instinct follow him.
