The papers

Today is the day we sign the papers to adopt Kellin and I can honestly say Zavis is fully on board. He has been waking up with Kellin even when I want the turn he takes it, they have grown on each other so fast I have a feeling that Kellin is going to be Zavis's everything. I've been replaced but I could be anymore content, all I want is for us to be happy.

Zavis's mom has been bugging us for the past few days not to adopt Kellin but Zavis has already laid it down that we are going to do this weather she likes it or not. There has been so much drama, Parker has been causing a havoc for Zavis at work making fake emergency phone calls. Parker has already gotten 4 tickets for it but that doesn't bother him now that's hes loaded with money. He wants me back but I don't want him and every time Zavis leaves for work I'm always scared Parker is going to have Zavis killed. My heart races everytime I get a call from the station but it's always him checking in when he's there.

I got a notice from a jail that the bitch who shot me is locked up and will be for 10 years for attentive murder and possession with a leather weapon. It makes me happy but also sad, she just needs mental health and she's not going to get it in there.

we sit waiting for the lawyers and caseworkers to finish talking and all these thoughts crossing my mind I don't even notice Zavis starring at me.
"What?" He smiles
"You okay baby?" I nod and smile,
"Yeah I'm good baby."
He kisses my cheek as they come in with the papers, my heart is racing I'm so excited to he this over with and make it final.

"Y'all ready to do this"
"Yes very." Zavis says rubbing my back, they hand is the papers and tell us where to sign. I take a deep breath as we sign, we finish and I look at Zavis.
"He all ours." He says smiling, we look at Kellin AMD he smiles in his sleep as if he knows he is in good hands and happy, as we leave the office we are confronted by Parker. Zavis puts me and Kellin behind him protecting us from Parker who looks like he has been on a drug binge for days on end.
"What do you want Parker? "
"You know what I want.... Dont act stupid Zavis and you know ill get it and that's her." Parker points to me and I shake my head feeling nervous.
"She's mine Parker just leave us one and stop calling the station already! You look pathetic." I hold Kellin close to my chest as Parker takes a step to us, Zavis yells out for security a d the doors bust open.
"Whats going on here?"
"This man has drugs on him and is harassing us." I look at the security and see hes a sheriff and I nod.
"Okay sir I need to search you.."
Parker smiles then runs off and has the sheriff chasing him as he calls in for back up, Zavis stands and watches as Parker runs to his car and pulls out a gun and starts shooting at the sheriff.
"Get inside now!" I nod and run inside as I hear more sirens and watch from the window as Zavis runs and tires to help, my heart is racing as gun shots go off all over. I watch and see Zavis get gunned down guarding the sheriff , tears fall from my eyes and o sob and scream as a desk clerk pulls me away. Finally they get Parker to the sound and handcuff him and I run to Zavis and hold Kellin in my airs holding his head as he smiles at me.
"Im going to be okay Babygirl its just a flesh wound."
I shake my head feeling weak as the EMT push me out if the way a d check on him, he has a bullet wound to his arm and right shoulder. The sheriff pulls me up and crushes me to his chest as they put him in the ambulance.
"Ill take you to the hospital just sit in the car and ill take you as soon as Im done with the report." I nod knowing Im in no emotional shape to be driving, I grab Kellin stuff and go strap him in the squad car and sit crying my eyes out. I look up and see Parker smiling.
"I hope hes dead! Ill be coming for you!" I flick him off as he gets in the back of another squad car and they drive off taking him away.
"You ready?" I nod as the sheriff sits and start the car.
"Your boyfriend is a brave man and I owe him my life. Not many people are willing to do what he did."
"H-hes a cop and I-i knew he would do that if it came down t-to it... I just cant believe this happened."
"Well that man is going to prison for a very long time. Probably 30-40 years."
"I doubt that hes very rich."
"Well if he does get off which I doubt, ill make sure you and your family are safe. I owe Yall."
"Thank you." He nods and helps me with Kellin stuff as we walk into the hospital.
"Im here for Zavis....."
"Last name?" I look at the cop feeling embarrassed....
"Im sure hes the only Zavis here nurse. This is his baby and his wife."
"Why doesn't his wife know his last name?"
"Im Jennica." She looks at me and smiles,
"So your the famous Jennica? Hes has been mumbling your name this whole time making the other nurses very jealous." I feel my face get hot and smile, she leads the way to the room and it take a deep breath.
"Jennica please come back for me..... Dont leave me...." I smile and walk into the room and sit next to him and grab his hand, his eyes flutter open and he smiles.
"Baby girl..... Ive missed you." I giggle
"Its only been an hour."
"A long painful lonely hour...." I shake my head and look at the sheriff as he stands next to me.
"You did a very courageous thing today, you saved my life and I own you a great debt."
"I was just doing what I felt I had too."
"Well Im Sheriff Stark, Dillon Stark and I want to award you a medal of honor sometime soon. Will you accept?"
I look at Zavis and he nods.
"Thank you Stark for taking care of my loves."
"Anytime, ill leave Yall alone now."
I look at Zavis and shake my head,
"You scared the hell out of me."
"Im sorry Babygirl. I love you."
"I love you too Zavis. Now hurry up and get better so we can go home." He chuckles shaking his head.
"Wanna get me some food?" I nod and smile.
"Leave the baby here." I lay down our sleeping Kellin and go to the cafeteria getting Zavis some food. When I come back i find Zavis looking down at Kellin with what looks like love, my heart! Ugh they are so cute!
"Are you inlove sir?" I ask walking into the room.
"I want one." I giggle setting the food on the near by table.
"You want one of what?" I ask getting his food ready, he grabs my hand wincing at his pain then looks at me.
"I want one.... I want a baby."
"We have a baby, hes sleeping in your arms." He chuckles,
"Hes going to need a brother or sister to play with......." I feel chocked up like I cant speak, how could he think about this right now?
"Did you hit your head when you got shot?" He chuckles ,
"No baby Im being serious..... Lets start a family."
"Ill make a deal, when we get married ill have your baby."
"Marriage huh? Doesn't that seem a little drastic?"
"As appose to me carrying a life inside me that could kill me Jr make me forever infertile?"
"Well if you put it that way....." I smile shaking my head.
"No rush though Im still very young and your mom hates me and our baby so yeah."
"She doesn't hate Yall she just needs some time to get used to all of this you gotta admit it did happen very suddenly."
I nod knowing hes right but it still bothers me that she would feel that way about an innocent child that has no one.
"When did the doctor say you can leave?"
"He is getting the release papers right now." I nod feeling tires from today's events.
"Lets pick up some food and go home after this, Im exhausted."
He nods and kisses my cheek, ugh I love this man....

A few hours later and we and we are finally home, Im hovering my spaghetti as we watch a horror movie because that's Zavis's favorite kind if genera. Im not evens watching it because I hate horror movies, I can feel Zavis looking at me and I look at him with my mouth full of food.
"Yes?" He shakes his head and smiles,
"You are so cute." I roll my eyes
"You my man are blind." I say a he chuckles to my reply, I take one last mouthful of my food and he takes away my plate setting it on the coffee table. His body slowly creeping on top of mine making me breath heavy as his hands slide my body down under his.
"You are so beautiful." I bite my lip feeling hot for him, my body screaming for him to touch me only the way he can.
"Zavis?"
"Yes baby?"
"Why did you want me so bad?" He smiles.
"I saw something in you that ive never seen before, I saw hope."
We look at the front door as we hear a knock on the door. I get up to answer it and see Zavis's mom standing there.
"Where is my grand baby?" I look at her confused.
"Sleeping in his crib?" She smiles, can I see him?
"Wait I'm confused."
"Don't be confused, he is my grandchild right?" I try not to roll my eyes and move so she can come in, Zavis get up and hugs her.
"Why do you always come unannounced? You really need to start calling especially since I have a significant other."
"Like y'all even do anything, if y'all did I'd have two grandchildren." Zavis chuckles.
"Well that's the plan." He did not just tell his mom we are going to start trying for a baby!
"He lying, I'm to young to be pregnant and I'm not ready for that stage of life."
"But honey your already there, you are a mom." What she says is true but I'm not ready to actually be pregnant.
"So who's going to bring me the baby?"
"No one, if you wake him up he won't go back to sleep." Zavis says, his mom slaps his arm and that's when she finally notices. Panic rushes over her,
"What happened?!"
"It's just a flesh wound I'm okay."
"Did this happen during work?!"
"No." His mom looks at me and walks up to me,
"If this happened because of you I swear I'll!-" Zavis pulls her away from my presence.
"You'll do what huh?! Not a damn thing! Respect her or get the hell out!"
His moms eyes tear up and she takes a deep breath.
"I'm sorry Jennica. I just I love my son very much." I walk up to her and embrace her in a hug.
"It's okay."
She hugs me back tightly and kisses my forehead.
"He's in the spare room if you wanna go see him." She nods and walks away, Zavis hugs me and pecks my lips.
"Why are you such a good woman?"
"I didn't used to be."
"I love you." Zavis says swaying me a little in his arms, ugh how could I have ever hated this man? He is the most loving, honest man I've ever been in the presence of.
"I love you too Zavis.... I think we should clean your wound and then set up the guest room for your mom. It's late and she shouldn't be on the road at this time of night." He sighs and nods, his mom comes in the room holding the baby and smiles.
"He really is beautiful." She says looking at us.
"We are going to set up the guest room for you."
"No, no it's okay I'll sleep out here with the baby. Y'all get some rest, I can only imagine how exhausted y'all are from today's events and no I don't want to hear what happened." Zavis chuckles and we go clean his wound and take a shower.
When we get out and get dressed we find his mom singing to Kellin. She's falling in love with him so fast, thank you god. Zavis and I tell her goodnight and head for bed, and as I lay my head on his chest with my leg thrown over his waist I find myself thanking god for giving me Zavis and Kellin. If I had knew this is what would have happened when Zavis first took me I would have been perfectly happy. I'm sober and a mommy now to a baby boy who needed me and Zavis and all this love. I only hope this baby will love us no matter what even when he is ready to have the talk about his parents.
The future is not set in stone, I don't know if the charges will stick against Parker or if he will even get time for what he did but all I can do is pray.
If Parker gets out I know he will come for me in full force and try to reck everything and everyone I love to hurt me. I can only hope Zavis and I can be strong enough to fight back and protect our blessings we have now.
Love is a very powerful thing but so is revenge.
