    Rachel P.O.V

I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping! Just kidding in a New York apartment all you can here are taxis. I'm glad school is out but that means more summer cafe work there. And the cafe isn't what you call "party material" more of a place to sit and chat over coffee, tea or cake. Hey at least you can get a good breakfast there I thought to myself.

      Which is true because the cafe has the best food ever! No lies.

"Rachel wake up or you're going to be late for work!" my mom yelled from downstairs.

    I unwillingly got out of bed and took a shower. After the shower I picked my clothes out. I was a One Direction shirt and skinny jeans. Along with my red Converse. I curled my long brown/blonde hair and just let it cascade down my back. I only put mascara and a subtle hint of lipgloss on because why look you're best when you are doing small jobs. I grabbed my Iphone and ran downstairs.

"I'm ready Mom." I told my mother who just finished flipping pancakes.

"Do you want one?" she asked me.

"No I'm just going to eat there..." I replied. Mom nodded her head, took her apron off and grabbed her keys. I can't wait to get my driver's license! My test is only a week away and I can't wait to put my hands on the wheel! The cafe is only a couple blocks away and technically I could've walked but mom didn't think it was completely safe so here I am in the car.

After another fifteen minutes we made it to the parking lot of the cafe. I  got out the car and walked through the doors. It was before opening time so the only people there were staff. Ahh! The smell of honey tea brewing and cake baking is heavenly! I went into the kitchen grabbed two glazed donuts and an iced mocha for breakfast. This is the only reason I skipped pancakes. I took out my phone and texted my friend Hannah:

Why aren't you here yet -Rachel

Hannah and I went to school together and now she's my only friend who works at the cafe with me. Incoming text:

Traffic and I overslept-Hannah

Sigh... Hannah has no boy problems she just doesn't want a boyfriend right now which is strange because everyone in high school should want one. The door opens and in walks in Hannah.

"I'm here!" she shouts.

The janitors snort at her and I roll my eyes while smiling.  She sure is a character.  Hannah is also a waitress not the best one but a waitress.  She loves gran-gran too and believes in her matchmaker mumbo jumbo. I hand a donut to her since I had too and we gossip about everything basically.  Which is pretty impressive since we talk all the time and school is out.

I leave the conversation and start making pre-food that people order a lot.  I also brew coffee and tea on the Keurig. That thing is AWESOME! My favorite is cinnamon/sugar tea. Yummy! My mom walks from behind the cash register and flips the sign to: OPEN. No one comes in for ten minutes and then bam! Brunch rush... I looked at the clock and it was only ten o' clock. It should be a crime to work this early in summer...

I grabbed my apron, pad of paper and two pens from the back room. I walked to a table that had a old couple sitting.

"Welcome to Matchmaker Cafe! I'm Rachel and I'll be..."I stopped mid-sentence.

My breath caught in my chest. In the cafe entered the most handsome boy I ever seen. The boy had hazel eyes and brown hair. He definitely worked out and most likely had abs... hopefully. He was staring at me too and I turned away. My cheeks were blushing and I was close to fainting. Yes! He was sitting at one of my tables. I then realized I was taking the old couples orders. I quickly scribbled their orders down and made my way to his table.

"Um... I'm Rachel and welcome to Matchmaker Cafe. I'll be taking your order today." I said trying to sound confident.

He didn't say anything just kept staring at me. I was having mixed emotions at his starings. Am I that beautiful or that ugly?

"Oh sorry... I was thinking about something. I'll have the caramel iced coffee, chocolate cake and your number. I'm Troy by the way." he said smoothly.

O my goodness! He wants my number yeah! I wrote it down on a another sheet paper and handed it to him. Hannah will be so jealous! Hah ten boy points for me! I winked at him and basically skipped away. I can't wait to text him. I took the orders and gave it to Max who was the top chef. Just then my phone was vibrating.

Would you like to go on a date tonight?-Troy

Sure is the reply I sent him.

What time do you get off work?-Troy

6:45 I texted back.

Cool! I'll pick you up at 7:00 and were something nice-Troy

Ok I texted.

Earlier that morning

I woke up to the sound of my baby sister crying. Again! I barely got any sleep last night either. I know! I'll just go to that cafe! I got up and got dressed. I got a red shirt, a black leather jacket, black jeans and red Nike's. I got my phone and started walking.

The cafe is just across my apartment building so all I did was cross. When I walked through the doors I saw a beautiful girl. She had bright blue eyes and had brown/blonde hair. She noticed me staring and turned away blushing. I was totally going to ask her out.

After she finished with her table she walked to mine.

~~~~~Fastforward to 6:45~~~~~
I decided I'm taking Rachel to a really nice resturant. I told.her to wear something nice so that means I have to wear nice also.  I went with a plaid shirt, tie, jeans and regular shoes. I left my hair because it does what it wants to. Perfect. I grabbed my phone and texted Rachel.
I'm already dressed but I'll still wait till 7. See you in a bit.
