The Reason

((Error POV))

I was holding back something that was trying to get to frisk while ink ran to the side to see what he could fond out about it. he came back and the ghost had disappeared. "Error I found out what it was!" I looked over, I was winded from holding it back for so long. "okay so what is it?" I asked crossing my arms and looking down at him. "well apparently this 'thing' is called             the chaser and I guess that only monsters with a pure heart can touch him and he latches on to humans to feed off them till they die or rot and-" "wait.." I interrupted him "yeah?!" he said "You said only people with a pure heart can touch him.." I said "yeah!" Ink jumped a little "Them why could I touch it?" Ink stopped jumping , he got serious. "so......" he said "why could you touch him..." he asked his voice was  getting deeper and more intimidating. I kinda flinched a little which made him notice. "um I don't know?" I shrugged "well how come you cam touch him after everything you've done?!" He yelled "you destroyed so many AU's for no reason!?!" okay now he was angry. "so I have to, y'know your not the only one who has a job!" he was stunned for a moment but came back quickly. "well at least I do my job for good not to kill people.." He said "I don't kill them, if anything I save them!" I said " save them? HOW you have nothing to prove it!" He said. "I think my pure heart says otherwise..." once I said that he stopped "I want to show you something...." I said and grabbed his hand as we teleported to the doodle sphere. "being here always made me sad, seeing the bright light fill every little space, how you here the chatter of the AU's all getting along....and their happy...really happy..I'm just alone." I felt like crying, but not in front of Ink so I wiped my eyes a little. "this place is so much different from the void. Its so dark and the only voices I hear are the ones in my head keeping  me sane..." I stopped Tears teasing my eyes as they felt like they were falling from them. Still holding Inks hand but a little harder now I went over to an AU's it was sad,it looked shriveled up and grey. "see this.." I said "yeah its an AU I see them everyday." Ink replied "yes but this one...how do you think it feels right now." I asked "just by looking at it?" He asked I nodded. "Well for starters its grey and it looks....hurt.." he said.  "yes but see it doesn't have to be like this." I said "really!" Ink said "yes but you won't like it..." I said as I gently held the AU in my hand. "Error.." Ink said watching me closely.  made bright blue strings attach to it. "ERROR STOP!" Ink yelled. but I didn't do a thing and the AU became dust. "why?" Ink questioned sadly. "so this could happen. I said pointing to the dust. Ink and I watched as the dust reformed into the AU but now it was healthy! "Ink looked over at me. I looked at the AU "Destruction is Creation, one cannot exist without the other and neither one is bad nor good. When an AU is created one must be destroyed or else the multiverse could corrupt. You may think my job is bad but in reality I'm helping out much more then you think, do I like doing it? No but I have to for the sake of everyone else." Ink stared at me "so that's why you have a pure heart..." I nodded "Error I'm sorry, I really am." I looked down at him he looked like he was crying. I hugged him "I don't blame you, I would have thought the same thing.." He smiled and hugged me tighter. "thanks Error..." he said "No problem." I smiled back at him still hugging.
