before him there was a boy
a child but acting like a grown up
some words to describe him would be
jealous, angry, and possessive
what you don't see through those words are what he showed her
he showed her
love, kindness, and honesty
she could not see the ugly parts of what he could be
for she was blinded by her love for him
and what she thought was his love for her
or maybe she could see those parts but pushed them away
in an attempt to have a perfect boyfriend that every girl wanted
except, not every girl wanted him—only her
for the other girls could see through his facade
they could see him for who he truly was
and in one night she was able to see it too
in one night the veil hiding these things from her was torn away
long gone was the tender loving boy she knew
all due to one quick, messy night in the back of a car
one night—clothes removed and hands gone too far
one night where a simple 'no' should have been enough
one night where when he saw that first tear drop
he should have known she was hurting but still he didn't stop.
