an unlikely crush met in an unlikely place.
I didn't know who you were
and you didn't know me.
yet thanks to a brief introduction,
a few words at graduation,
and some cornbread
you have become the most important person in my life.
it all started with some jokes,
some late night calls,
and some summer nights i'll never forget.
not long after that I realized how captivated I was by you,
how captivated I still am.
I love you for everything about you.
you can be kind and sweet and loving,
as well as charismatic and funny.
there never seems to be a dull moment.
with you I can be myself,
I can be stupid,
immature,
and free knowing you wont judge me.
I can be real with you.
thanks to you I remembered how to love again,
so much so that I even wrote a poem about it.
and what I said there still applies here,
I love you.
