"...and this early in the morning too," said Ivy, who was currently waiting for the elevator but now went for the office. Ella followed her hastily, surprised by the announcement. Ivy yawned, covering her mouth politely while Ella rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand. The first day of school had been exciting, the second week wasn't so much.
They went to the office and saw Mrs. La'Lune pacing around. She lit up as soon as she saw them. "You're here!" she said. Ivy shrugged, "Why wouldn't I be?" she asked, a little bit aggravated at having to wake up so early. Mrs. La'Lune sighed, "I was just worried. Uh, come here!" she said, flustered.
She pulled out two chairs from side rooms and gave one to Ella and Ivy. She waited until they sat down, then said "Okay. I want to pull you guys from Magics Studies, thoughts?" she asked bluntly. Ella and Ivy stared at her for a second before Ivy spoke.
"Reason?" she asked. Mrs. La'Lune pointed to her. "You," she said. "You can't use magic. and that's going to be a problem". Ivy shrugged, "But if you pull me out, then it'll be suspicious" she countered. She folded her arms across her chest and put one leg over the other. She looked remarkably older in just that one move.
Mrs. La'Lune looked shocked, "W-Well, I guess. But then how are you going to study magic if you can't use it?" she asked.
Ivy smiled, "I'll use a charm for classes. I'll have Ella help me when she develops her powers" she said. Ella looked visibly worried at the "develop" part but otherwise didn't comment.
Mrs. La'Lune almost smiled, "Alright then, let's do it like that. For now, I want you to be careful though" she said.
Ivy smiled back, "I know," she said.
Neither of them knew that a lot of trouble was coming their way.
Lunch soon came, and they were eating together, sharing what they had to. Maci was always the one doing the most talking. Ella politely listened, though her mind was on other things. Ivy didn't seem to mind, instead of munching on her egg salad sandwich (she says it's brain food). Something came up behind her and tapped on her shoulder.
"Hey Lea, let's go out for a second," said Stephany. Ella started as she turned around to see Stephany looking right at her. She was smiling, but Ella knew better. Ivy did so too because she narrowed her eyes.
Stephany pushed on Ella and led her out the door. Ivy followed.
"What do you want?" she asked as soon as they were out of the cafeteria. They were somewhere near the dorms, but since it was a school day, no one was home. Stephany matched her gaze. "You think you're so cool, don't you?" she said. Ella backed off immediately, "N-No!" she said, surprised at her words. Ivy almost laughed. Ella, thinking she was cool?
"Well, it doesn't matter. Tell me, you haven't even used magic since you got here. Why don't you?" she asked. She stepped forward, and Ella took another back. "Uh..."

Then Stephany charged up something. It looked like wind. The wind swirled around her, and she glared at Ella. Somewhere on the back of her mind registered that it was her first time seeing magic this prominent.
So she's a Wind type, thought Ivy. Ella backpedaled, "What? Wait, stop!" she said.
Stephany blew Ella back to the end of the hall, then charged up a ball of sorts. She prepared to hurl it at her, and it was only Ivy's quick words that Ella dodged it. It left a small mark on the wall.
