(3)The Children

We walk down the narrow passageways, making sure not to hit an object or an animal. Some animals are attracted to darkness so it probably won't help us in the slightest. We make way to a clearing, and I see kids everywhere. They are running around crazy, or just plain psychotic. I see Marshall looking frantic and I take it upon myself to bring them back to order, not chaos."HEY!"I Yell, grabbing most kids attention. As soon as they see me, they start to run to me, but I force them to stop. 

They look at me weird and I motion forward, they walk slowly, finally realizing I don't want chaos near me. They all come in for hugs, even for Marshall, who didn't look happy when I first saw him.

"I hate to break up this perfect moment, but what are you doing?"

"HUgging the kids. What are you doing?"

"No ... I mean as in whats the checkup?"

"Oh... You should have clarified. I am just doing basic measurements and reflex test. Wanna help?"

"I'll pass."Shiro says while Sora states"Yeah sure.". The look they give each other kind of worries me, but I let it pass. They all stand in a line, and King Sora steps forward and starts handing me the things I would be needing. I thank him and get to work marking down all of the things that were measured.

By the end of the appointment, its almost half past 10 and we have a few hours to kill, til fireworks. Everyone right now are engrossed in a storytelling by King Sora and Princess Shiro. They talk about the plans they want to do for this country, and I didn't notice Shiro slipped away until she was standing next to me in the doorway.

"Do you like him?"She asks out of nowhere and I practically jump, letting out an unmanly squeal that wasn't heard (Thankfully) By anyone else except her. Once I fully see her, my heart speed goes back to normal, and I start to think about the question that was asked. Do I like him? What if I do. I am from no royalty. Would I be executed because I like the king?

"Yeah... I think I might? Why? What plan are you plotting Princess?".

"Oh, none of that. Please don't call me Princess. I really hate the formalities when it comes to small talk. And my plan may concern you but, you definitely don't need to know about it."She says smiling. I look up to see the windows covered in fake grass, that still let light in. It tells that the moon is racing to the sky rather quickly, and we probably need to hurry if we want to watch the fireworks.

I yell out to King Sora,"KING SORA We need to start leaving if you want to see the fireworks.". King Sora looks up from telling them a secret and hollers back,"give me a minute'. he quickly whispers some sort of plan and they all giggle. I roll my eyes as he points in our direction.

"King Sora!"

"Fine....... Ill leave but don't expect me to be happy about this now.".

"Yeah yeah. Let's go. it will take us a bit to get back above ground and to the center, so let's move it.".

I bow to Marshall and we exit the rooms, walking back up the way to the entrance tot he Catacombs, retreating all of our steps. I heard nothing but feet hitting the old paved stone, as we made our way back to civilization. We took the quicker way this time, thankfully it was much better than wandering around the catacombs of Lost Children.

The air kept getting thicker as we made our way up until it stopped. At the perfect elevation, we walked out of the abandoned building and into the dark night sky. I go over to the fake glass that I was looking out of half an hour ago and I reposition the grass, before waving goodbye. I remember that when I first found out about the night children, I composed a spell so that they could see out and everything that's there, including the light from the moon, but no one could see in. 

It was important for when I first met these kids that they would feel safe, even when I wasn't there. Putting it simply, I was their protector. God Tet came into power only 7 years ago, so we were all still battling when I met the children. Me, being me I cast an elven spell that is now being used today. That night was also when I met the God Tet. 

When I met him I thought I was dreaming, but he told me something that changed my life for the better. He said,"You run away, are going to be a protector of many. I am reinstating few laws for everyone to follow and to have fun together, but, I fear that if something goes wrong, we might return to our original state. That is why I will give you an offer that not many can and would refuse. If you protect these children like your own by giving the checkups and stopping by every few days, I will put a glamour on you and give you something more important then you would've thought was possible. So will you accept my offer?"

I thought about it for a few minutes before nodding, Suddenly a blue flash of light swarmed us and I was sitting in all of my glory. I felt this new energy surge into my bloodstream leaving goosebumps everywhere it traveled. I cast a spell, and a silver mist started to appear, then a wave of cool wind followed it. I was an ultimate weapon, cast by God Tet himself. I shall use it only to protect others and myself and never for fun.

"Thank you..... I appreciate the glamour too,"I say slipping off my bed and bowing to the God. I felt my body being covered up by something scratchy. I look up, to see a helmet on my body, and he smiles happily at me before floating in the air.

"I now pronounce you as The Saggio protettore knight, The protector of children and the Wise. Welcome to being a being.".

I look around and see I am still standing the field near the city. King Sora and Princess Shiro are looking at me weirdly."What?"I ask.

"You kept mumbling something about children and a tet? What are you referring to?"

"Something that I was sworn to never say, if I did I would be disobeying their orders, and I don't want that to happen."

King Sora's eyes soften a bit to what I am saying, but befor I could trully see it its gone."Shall we go then? Back to the city?"

"Yes, I want to see the fireworks."

"Alright, I guess I am your guide." And with that we step into the night
