Ross P.O.V

Me and Rachel sat side by side, Dad, Ryland and Mom in the middle while the rest of them in front or behind us. That wasn't really what I was bothered about. I was more bothered by the fact that I was not included in the conversation of my father and Rachel, having me to eavesdrop.

I pretended to be remembering my lines for Teen Beach Movie but I was focusing on what they were saying.

"How did you and the rest of the girls meet?" My father asked first.

"Well... Amethyst, me, Raven and Haley were actually school mates. Amethyst was often bullied because she was smaller than the rest and also cause she was a student leader. Some kids would often try to bully the others and I would intervene. I couldn't stand people being bullied, so I would chase them away. The first time I saw Amethyst, it was in elementary school and she was bullied by the Stella. You know... that girl that 'tried' to beat me up." I saw her putting the hand quotations for 'tried'.

"She was being bullied and Stella was about to hit her when I pulled her off Amethyst. The rest of her little girl gang was shocked and crowded around me, threatening that they would inflict pain and suffering on me if I didn't let their ring leader go. Then I threatened them and told them to buzz off from Amethyst forever or they would know what it would mean to neither hide nor hair while I shook Stella by her blonde hair."

My father chuckled along with Rachel and I continued to listen.

"So after threatening the little ring leader, I let go of her and helped Amethyst up. Ever since then, we became friends. She learned that I had no parents and then her family adopted me. She then introduced me to Raven and Haley, her classmates and her best friends."

I could tell Rachel was not even the least awkward. She communicated so well with my dad, it surprised me. Usually, the meeting of parents often gets one nervous. I've "met" hers and honestly, when she spoke about me to them, I was nervous. Rachel? She was smiling and answering what my Father had questioned.

"No parents?" My father had a hint of concern in his voice.

"Yea. My family was caught in a fire. Only I made it out." She said solemnly.

There were more questions that I wanted to just switch places with Rachel. I was jealous. I wantwd to be the one talking to Rachel. I wanted to be the reason why Rachel is laughing.

My dad and Ryland were interrogating her because I like her. Ryland was the big mouth that told my dad. I was infuriated when I found out last night. Ryland literally betrayed my secret to dad... Everyone knows except for Rachel herself...

Now, I'm jealous because we're drifting a little further apart everyday and I want her near me. Can't I have her for an entire day? Scratch that. Forever! I wanted her badly, but I'm scared...

Soon, my dad claimed he was going to be sleeping and that left me and Rachel alone with some quiet time of our own together.

"I was worried about my interrogation session."

I looked into her hazel eyes. They held her relief of the end of their interrogation and how exhausted she was on our flight to Puerto Rico.

"You shouldn't have. You've done it and my father seems to like you. Besides, everyone knows you have a magnetic personality."

"He suddenly bombarded me with all those questions..." She trailed off, "is there something happening that I am unaware about?"

I began feeling a little more nervous being around her. Think Ross! How would I answer her? She can't know that I like her now!

"Considering Dad knows more about the rest and not you, it's probably cause he wanted to find our more about you." I said casually, shrugging my shoulders.

"I sincerely doubt this is coincidence..." She said, half-believing me and letting go of the situation. Score!

"You better start believing in coincidence then."

"How's your gigs going?" She said after a few moments. Riker and Haley were being sweethearts again ans Ratliff was with Raven, making her giggle. The rest of them were already asleep.

"Their fine. It's good because Raven was performing for us. Even better because you were there." I winked at her, hoping to strike a chord in her.

"And perhaps it would be even better if the girls performed?"

"Maybe. You could if you wanted to... you know?"

"I wouldn't mind. They would." I saw her shrugging.

We sat in silence just looking at each other. She still confuses me. But for reasons, I wanted more. I wanted more of her. I couldn't get enough of her...

"Goodnight Ross..." Rachel murmured as sleep took over her. She yawned and leaned back against the head rest.

"Goodnight, my love..." I said, nearly inaudible as her soft snores sounded. I gently pushed her head onto my shoulder and rested my head on hers.
