Chapter 17

3rd Person's POV

"Where have you been?" she asks softly,"Why do you care?" "Am I not suppose too?" "Here's a thought, maybe act like I don't exist in your world and I'll do the same." That hit a pang in her heart. "Just what is your problem?" "I dont have any, you do." My heart starts feeling like it's about to drop as I look down, avoiding his gaze and my eyes start to brim, "I know that I don't deserve you," He looks at her instantly,"I know I'm not the best, maybe the worst choice that you could choose from," She grips her fists remembering all of those hurtful words and past coming back to her,"I know that you can choose over millions of other girls who are better than me, I know you feel suffocated being in this forced marriage with me, but just like you, I didn't ask to be like this..." her cheeks are now stain with tears, "If you want us to be strangers then, I'll grant your wish. I won't bother you anymore."

She keeps her head down, looking at the ground, turns around, getting ready to hide and disappear from his sight as more tears starting to fall. She stops in her tracks when he suddenly speaks, "My wish? *scoff* Isn't it to grant your wish? I bet you and-, wait who are you with again? Is it Hojung? Mingyu? Or is it Jinyoung? I mean who knows? You've talked to every guy in the company right? Might as well sleep your way through it." He says with anger and sarcasm.

Y/N becomes weak at those words. Her mind starts to cloud her. She tries to control her breathing and tone, she tries not to break infront of him. Y/N doesn't move even an inch from her spot, not a sniffle is heard from her but, she can her heart breaking into millions of pieces in her mind and her tears won't stop streaming down her face either.

"Honestly, guys like you are the reason I never trust anyone around me..." she walks away to the guest room with tears staining her cheeks. Daniel's glare turns into guilty stares as he watches her walk away. He sits down at the hand of the couch in the living room, feeling a lump in his throat and his heart starts to ache with those words coming out of her lips. Suddenly, his eyes begins to water as the words repeat in his mind. Daniel knows what he said to her, but as he repeats it again, he starts to regret every single word. He realizes his actions weren't done because he hates her, his ego is too high to admit and realize that he loves her.

Daniel got up from his sit and walks in front of the guest room, he doesn't dare to knock nor call out for her, instead, he leans his back against the door, slides down slowly and sits down, softly bangs his head on the door. "I didn't mean to hurt you... Mianhada(I'm sorry)..." He whispers to himself, hoping she would hear what he said as tears start to make their way down his cheeks. Without knowing, Y/N is doing the same, she has admitted her feelings through her actions, however, everything felt hopeless as Daniel didn't see how much she cares and loves him. She heard him, every word, every shaky breath he took, every tear slipping, but she's too hurt by him. She covers her mouth with her hands, trying her best to not let a single sound come out of her lips. They both stay in the same position for a while until the house phone rings.

*ring ring*

Daniel wipes his tears and takes a deep breathe before answering the call, "Yeoboseyo?" "Annyeonghaseyo, juseonghayeo for calling this late, but, may I speak to Yoon Y/N?" "And who is it that I'm speaking to now?" "Naneun chinguya(I'm a friend)." "A-ah arrasseo... shamshimmanyeo..." He walks back to her door and knocks on it, "Y/n-ah, your friend wants to speak to you... Nawa... Juseyo? (Come out...Please?)" She wipes her tears and comes out of the room with her head down. Y/N walks quickly to pick up the phone and speaks to her friend. Daniel sits behind her, waiting for the call to end. Once it ends, Y/N starts walking in a fast pace, but, before she could walk back to her room, he pulls her by the wrist to stop her in her tracks. They stay frozen, as Daniel seems to have forgotten what he was about to say to her, "Wae?" Y/N asks, "Aniyo... We should go to sleep, it's getting late." He let's go of her and walk towards the master bedroom. Y/N follows behind him, heading towards the guest room, not making any other conversion with each other whatsoever.
