A few weeks passed and nothing had happend from Cordelia. Yui and the baby were safe, at least for now until we could find a more permanent solution. In order for her to get the best protection possible each of us are standing guard over her room each day and Reiji even managed to fix up a special medallion that was said to ward off spirits. As for me, I'm just glad that for once we weren't tearing each others throats out or making petty quips. It almost seemed nice and hopefully this can allow us to out asife the grievences we have with eachother and actually manage to live under one roof.
It was my turn to stand guard over Yui and we finally managed to get a chance to talk. "When did you find out about the baby?" "It was only a few days before everything had happend, I tried to keep it a suprise from everyone so that it could seem bigger, but... now that all of this is happening.... I wonder if I'm the one responsible." Yui just started breaking down in front of me and she wept into my shoulder. "Yui, none of this is your fault.. you've had no control over any of this and you managed to fight her off as best as you could, you've got nothing to be ashamed of." "But.m. but what about the baby-" "the baby's going to be alright babe, we've got this and werr gonna go throigh this together no matter what happens, I'll always be by your side." "And.. since this is actually the first time weve managed to be alone, I was saving this for a brighter occassion but Yui..." and I pulled out one of the shinest diamonds out of my pocket and showed it to her. It was a rough cut ruby diamond that I had special ordered from a jewel mine in India, one of the best handcrafted gems in the world. "Will you marry me?"
